Nostalgic Comfort
A lot of people say that nostalgia is less about the subject And more about the context. That is, You don't miss playing simpsons hit & run on the playstation 2, You miss being eight years old without any of the complications of adulthood.
I don't think that's the whole story. A lot of nostalgia is about the memory, But it is also about the comfort and familiarity. Some flavours stay with you for decades. Some games you played so much that its muscle memory never decayed. Nostalgia is not only a longing for simplicity, It is a fondness for history, And a reminder of what we loved yesterday.
