Jell and Jellane are two different people
I should have done this article a long time ago.
So, when I first drafted 30 Days with Fina, I didn’t have any name for the protagonist and narrator of the story. It was mostly written in pronouns and later on when I decided to just go with my own nickname “Jell” did the draft started to come to life.
Before I posted the first chapter, I knew that my readers would eventually think that the character is me, so I added in a “-ane” to the name to make it “Jellane” and separate her from myself. But I guess that wasn’t enough because most people still thought that I am Jellane and that the story 30 Days with Fina is my own.
Aside from basing Jellane’s Folloso family from my own, I think the only other similarity we have is that we kinda have the same style when it comes to choosing what we’ll wear.
On the other hand, we have a bunch of differences:
She loves economics. I mean, a double degree on it? I remember fearing my high school economics teacher because I’m so bad at economics I fear she would call me for recitation and I can’t give her any proper answer.
She’s a Casanova. I would never play with anyone’s feelings or hook up with anyone just for fun. (But maybe if I was a douche, I could try HAHA)
She can drive and has a car of her own. I’ve always wanted to learn how to drive, in fact, I’m so tired of commuting I told my family the first thing I’ll save money on when I graduate is for a car.
She’s okay with neon pink. I loathe pink and I don’t like neon colors.
Okay, maybe I can list more but I’m kinda sleepy now so I’m gonna go and curl up in bed. I’ve had enough explaining that the author is different from her characters.
