Dear Cearalaith,
You are one of my favorite characters, you know that? Ever since you were a baby D&D paladin nearly fifteen years ago. Youâve changed forms, friends, families, kingdoms and costumes many times, but every time Iâve carefully crafted an avatar and graced her with your name youâve had the same soul.
Iâve been bitched at for being too mean to you in this incarnation. Everyone loves you â which is awesome! I love you too and it makes me happy that my friends enjoy you. And I donât like making you sad.
Thereâs so much about you Iâd like to emulate. Thereâs a lot in you Iâd like to be: sweet, brave, enduring, giving, forgiving. Thatâs why I like you, and why I like playing you. Maybe that makes you a Mary Sue; what the fuck ever. I still have fun with you and thatâs what counts.
But enough about me. You know, where your sister is concerned, take her back when youâre ready. I know youâve already forgiven her (even if you donât tell anyone as much, because that will just spark a different argument) but youâre being really smart by not leaving yourself open to her. Not that she would abuse you again, but itâs okay to not want to leave yourself open to that shit. Kudos to you on standing your ground â itâs something not enough people do.
As for Corael⌠hon, heâs not doing anything for you. You know it, and whether he knows it or not itâs time to do something about it.  Youâre not a failure because itâs not working out. You gave it your best shot, and thatâs all anyone can do. You two can still be friends â and knowing you two, you will. And thatâs all good⌠but time to let it go. (And yeah, I know itâs partly me hanging on, and I gotta figure that shit out; itâs not all on you, so sorry Iâm such a nerdy wimp about it.)Â

Drama? Maybe a touch of rom-com. Iâd like a bit more epic adventure (and I think she would too)! Something to work on.
29.) How does your character smell? Do they wear perfume or cologne?Â
Cearalaith likes fruity scents â strawberry, citrus scents, tart apple. She doesnât usually wear perfume but her soaps and hair products tend to be scented and thus these aromas follow her around.

Another song for Astoreth and Cearalaith, from little sisterâs perspective this time. Cearalaith worries for her sister, fears for her. Sheâs angry at her right now â and rightfully so; she doesnât feel she can trust her. But Cearalaith does understand that Astoreth suffers in her loneliness, inside the protective shield sheâs built around herself (âIf you never say your name out loud to anyone/they can never ever call you by itâ). It bothers her that thereâs nothing she can directly to do help her sister, because she literally cannot comprehend what Astoreth is doing or what is going on with her (âYouâre getting sadder, getting sadder⌠and I donât understand.â) And if she could kiss and make it better, she would⌠but even now, she doesnât know if it would help.
Weâre Going To Be Friends â The White StripesÂ
When Cearalaith was still a girl her father fostered an angry young man into their household named Stavier Luminiar. Stavier immediately was disliked by her sister and brothers for being violent, arrogant, sulky, illegitimate, freakishly big and generally not a Duskflame⌠but little Cearalaith saw only a sad boy whoâd lost his home and his mother and everything that ever made him smile, and she immediately decided that she was going to be his friend, because that was what he needed more than anything else â and so they have in fact remained friends all these decades since. I canât pull specific lines from this song like I can the other, but the general spirit and feeling of the song has always fit very well to me for the time.
25.) Describe your characterâs hands. Are they small, long, calloused, smooth, stubby?
Cearalaithâs hands are relatively small, like her sisterâs â but unlike Astorethâs, hers bear the wear and tear of a swordswoman. Tell-tale callouses mark her gentle fingers, and the muscles of her hand are strong and defined.
26.) Second day of favorites! Favorite comfort food, favorite vice, favorite outfit, favorite hot drink, favorite time of year, and favorite holiday.Â
Cearalaith enjoys grilled cheese sandwiches for her favorite comfort food! Her favorite vice is alcohol, especially whiskey â she can drink a lot of senior officers under the table. Though she genuinely enjoys wearing her armor (and she wears it well!) her favorite outfit is a dress of simple blue linen, with embroidered bodice and hems â comfortable, flattering, easy to move in. Her favorite hot drink is hot chocolate, and her favorite time of year AND holiday are Winterâs Veil â everyoneâs happy and cheerful and focused on family, friendship and good feelings. If only it could last all year longâŚ.
Cearalaith is spiritual after a fashion, but not superstitious.Â
24.) What might your characterâs ideal romantic partner be?
Cearalaithâs ideal romantic partner is a male sinâdorei, strong and handsome â though more along the rugged, strong-jaw lines than the soft pretty-boy type. He needs to be intelligent, compassionate, dedicated and brave. He needs to be true to himself and honest with those around him. He needs to be able to hold his liquor, but shouldnât be a drunk. He needs to love children, and be willing to be an equal partner in the relationship â neither above Cearalaith nor below her.
Though thereâs more than a few people who might meet the qualifications, she doesnât think sheâs met her actual ideal mate. Even though she and her ex are trying to work things out, she doesnât have especially high hopes. Itâs becoming quite apparent that he needs her a lot more than she needs him, and the imbalance is concerning to her.

19.) Whatâs your characterâs preferred means of travel?Â
Cearalaith still keeps the charger she was assigned back in the day. Goldendawn has served her faithfully and well, and though heâs getting on in years heâs still hale and strong, and though sheâll be proud to one day give him the retirement he deserves, sheâs not exactly anxious for that day to come.
20.) Does your character have any irrational fears?Â
While performing a task for the Bronze Dragonflight, Cearalaith ran into a supposedly future version of herself who was a death knight.
Even though death knights proper are no longer being created (OOC: I am under the impression that what Sylvanas does is different), and adventures with the Bronzes have proven that no future is inevitable, sheâs still pretty terrified that that will be her eventual fate.
17.) Whatâs your characterâs desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?
Her personal spaces are somewhat cluttered, but Cearalaith keeps everything clean and organized in her workspaces. The importance of keeping her gear pristine was impressed upon her hard in the Academy.
18.) Is your character a good cook? Whatâs their favorite recipe, whether theyâre good or not? (Microwave mac-and-cheese applies.)
Cearalaith is a capable, though not outstanding, cook. Her specialties are comfort foods (grilled cheese sandwiches, pot roasts) and baked goods. Yes, Westel, she bakes a mean skethyl berry pie.
