Blast From the Past:
I’ve played in numerous bands over the years but the one that started it all off was “The Lighter Side”. We were 13 years old and in our minds we had already conquered the world; how could when the songs you wrote were made up on the spot? We played eight shows over the life of our band, ending each set with the worlds most unfaithful cover of 'Stairway To Heaven'. Some of my fondest memories as a young teen are from those days.
Blast From The Past:
This picture was taken during the fall of 2011 on one of the days leading up to the very North Carolina trip Brock wrote about last month. One Big Quicksand had just came out back then, but we were still in writing mode, which was pretty much all we did ever since I joined the band that summer.
We were in Brock's garage, which looks totally different now. The facility was originally used for an apple orchard, actually. I remember how we used to gladly spend every second we could in there just to play music, despite the fact it was little more than freezing, auto-mechanic dungeon from hell until a year or so ago. Being able to lose track of time in a place dedicated to being creative is a gift.

Blast From The Past:
Miramichi, New Brunswick…This was during my first tour away from home (before the Double Experience era). The tour itself was a whirlwind of emotions for me, but I’ll always think fondly of that province due to the people I met that year. In a sentence, this tour literally changed my life.
If anyone out there has any memories of that tour, I’d love to hear them!

Blast From The Past:
When we first went to North Carolina to record music, we took a break from the studio to experience a side of America that is seldom talked about or stereotyped in any form. This is a commemorative picture of our afternoon conquest of driving 20 miles out of Chapel Hill, NC to a secluded ranch to shoot military grade munitions at scrap metal targets. On our way out, Al smoked cigars and told us stories of previous clients while blasting Pantera, Matthew Good, and Deftones.
Upon first glance, it might not be clear what you are looking at in the photo, so I’ve prepared a bullet list of the items appearing in this photo:
• Bullets
All in all it was a completely irresponsible use of our time, which also means it charted quite high on our well-calibrated Fun Scale™ (patent pending). - Brock

Tool are straight up from another dimension
Blast From The Past:
On our last day of our first UK tour, we dedicated one whole day to "touristy shit" in London. Our travels obviously convened at Buckingham Palace. It may not our best photo (look at my fucking facial hair) but, hey.
During that day we wanted to end our trip with one last taste of the country by way of a quintessential UK meal and scoured the city for a good "chippy" (fish and chips). After passing about a dozen Delis, Chinese Take-Aways and Mediterranean Restaurants, we settled on pizza.... in London England.
What I learned that day: being a mediocore tourist still means you get to make some truly unique memories your buddies.
