Charlottesville & President Trump.......
First let me say this: If you choose to read my answer please read my answer. In its entirety with the goal of understanding what I am trying to say rather than the goal of looking for ways to tear it apart, twist it, manipulate it and attempt to insult my character or call me names. If you can do that, please read on. If you can't, please don't waste your time here because I'm actually trying to have a conversation here. Here's the problem. Why is media called media and not journalism anymore? Well I would say it's because they don't seek the truth but rather “entertain” or even worse influence with propaganda. President Trump has gone out of his way to condemn the hatred that the kkk stand for and naziism stands for repeatedly, not just now but for many years. Check my footnotes. (1) After his initial reaction and statement weren't enough for the media(2)They kept pushing & he came out with. Second statement in which he again condemned not only their actions but also their hatred behind it. (3)After having seen more of what had occurred though, he also made a statement that ultimately both sides that were present were responsible for violence. This is a fact. Not siding with one over the other but rather standing for law abiding Americans & our country as a whole. Let me ask you, does hatred resolve hatred? The one group had a permit to assemble peacefully. The other showed up throwing things , screaming & yelling. Do I agree that the hatred the first group respresents is reprehensible? Absolutely. Do I think that the second group behaved in an appropriate manner? In a way that their parents would be proud? In a way that somehow showed them to have better moral character than the first group? No I do not!!! I firmly believe that as individuals we are responsible for our actions. Regardless of what someone else says or does, it is our own actions & words that we can control. For Gods sake, what did we all learn in elementary school-2 wrongs don't make a right. Sticks & stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me(ok. Yes they will emotionally hurt but we don't have to listen if we don't like what someone is saying-that's what standing with our fingers in our ears and humming is for) There are laws in this country that protect every single citizens right to speak their mind whether we like it or not. There are also laws that draw the line in the sand. Free speech does not extend to calls for violence of any sort! You legally can not tell people to physically harm anyone. In fact, you can't call for people to break the laws of this country. No rioting, no violence. That sort of thing. But if you are a racist piece of crap and want to speak publicly about how you are a racist piece of crap-As long as you have a permit, you can. Now here is where the 3rd factor came into play in this horrific day in our history. The local government! 1. They knew that this “meeting”-”protest” was going to be too large to be contained in the small park they authorized. The permit should not have been authorized for that location 2. The moment that any terms of the permit were violated, it invalidated the permit and the police should have broken up the “protest”. 3. The police were under orders to allow the violence to escalate. Neither group was on a higher moral ground. Both were wrong and both should have IMMEDIATELY been arrested on the spot!! Why?? Why was this done?? The strong suspicion was political motivation which is REPREHENSIBLE !! Now I'm going to close my note with returning to my absolute strong belief that ADULTS are responsible for their actions! Who is ultimately responsible for the death that day? Whoever was in the car that day driving & anyone who “incited” them to violence. Who is responsible for the fighting & the spitting & the urine balloons & all the other violence? Each and every person who participated in said violence!! Every single one of them should be arrested and receive the maximum sentence allowable for their individual behavior. President Trump didn't side with anyone that was spewing hate nor did he side with anyone who was violent. He stood up for the American people who follow our laws and respect each other. He stood up for right. He did nothing wrong whatsoever. But if you listen to the media, and choose to believe the worst, then you are not thinking for yourself and you are excusing the disgusting behavior of all. Ps…he's also not an antisemite. His children and in laws are Jewish. The implication of such is insulting and ridiculous. Another thought, after reading a response that someone wrote to a question about this subject on another site. They were claiming that even David Duke thinks President Trump is on his side….and that anyone who thought differently was dumber than David Duke and the KKK. Well, my belief is that David Duke is ignorant, he is racist, he may even be evil but I don't think he's stupid. He is well aware that by coming out publicly with his statements now and during the election, he is not helping the President. Ironically, it has been shown that while publicly he was verbally saying that he was voting for Trump, privately he was donating to someone else's campaign. (Hint: the info can be found on WikiLeaks). If we take this as a fact- 1. His support can only hurt Trump 2. His money didn't go to Trump The only logical conclusion is that he is trying to harm the President. They aren't smarter than certain other people because they figured out he “had their back”. They are only smarter if you believe that after everything Trump himself has said denouncing David Duke through the years that he actually supports Trump....Just saying ….. Last ?, how would you react if you were not only repeatedly accused of being racist but the media had decided it was fact and made it appear so. Twisted it to appear so. I know I'd be pissed to say the minimum. Please watch my footnotes and imagine that was you. Try putting yourself in his shoes. Sure they cost more than most people's but does that mean it's ok to bully someone that way? So there is my opinion, it is what it is. My opinion holds no more value than yours; nor does it hold less. In this country, they are valued the same. I hope you can understand my viewpoint.
