1st of all, wow. 2nd of all, Sweet Mint is a song I wrote after a break up. I wrote it while I went to the bathroom at work. I tried my hardest to use simple terms, but as a wordsmith, of course there are still quite a few lexically complex words throughout the track lol. Writing Sweet Mint was a complete stream of consciousness though, it just flowed out of me very quickly & easily. Raw emotions. I don’t really deal with emotions, it’s not my department fr. But with Sweet Mint, I really got to say EVERYTHING I felt, & be DONE. It was very cathartic. As a Pisces rising, I knew the song needed to drop during Pisces season. Sea foam/mint green is Pisces’ color + the song 100% fits Pisces’ vibe♓️. The song was supposed to come out on the 14th, then the 17th, but Tectonic Plates was doing so well, that I got a bit complacent. Nevertheless Sweet Mint still got dropped 5 hours before Pisces season ended!! This track is kind of a part 2 to my 1st song, Keepsake. It’s written about the same relationship that Keepsake was mostly inspired by…its kind of funny actually. He kept “them hoes from out the way”, but that didn’t stop him from being narcissistic 😹 but I’m so happy Sweet Mint is available for y’all to hear.
