It's finally that time guys. ThatKidCam's debut project '2ndFirstImpression' Just released literally out of nowhere, like I saw the album art which is very nice btw. I figured there would be a few days before it dropped, but BOOM outta nowhere '2ndFirstImpression' in the palm of our hands, and drums of our ears. The whole project is produced entirely by JRhodes, and I like this concept even though there are a few beats in particular that I wasn't very fond of. The album starts off with 2 singles that he previously released. The first Kid Cam song I ever heard. 'Talk About It' With it's crazy keys. I think the best way to describe the instruments for most of the tracks on here, just holy. Choirs n keys. After 'Free' I feel like the album takes a more solemn tone, and the lyrical content switches up as well. 'Chasing Stars' might be my favorite song on the tape. It's just very heartfelt, and proves KidCam really has an in depth ability to tell stories. He sticks with the same lyrical content on the next track 'Can't Love You' which honestly surprises me how much he talks about women on this project. Not a bad thing at all, just caught me by surprise. The instrumental is simplicity at it's finest, and I like the church-esque organs towards the end. Oh and the hook by 'Dustin Lyons' tops off the song nicely. The next track on the project 'GahhhhDAMN' is just so-so to me. The hook is a little too repetitive for Cam's level I feel like. 'Elevator' easily another favorite for sure. Most of the features on this album really surprised me. I wasn't expecting all the RnB style hooks, but those turned out to be my favorite tracks. The Jean Michael's verse, and hook really set the tone for this to be an amazing track. KidCam has never been one to shy away from being honest with his rhymes. He's better than you, and he damn sure not afraid to say it. 'Bad Impressions' with -Topic shows you that for sure. They address a lot of problems on the scene, and I'm glad they did. The 'Goonies' Track with 'Raven Lore' has one of my favorite instrumentals, also feels like one of the more pop flavored tracks on the project. 2ndFirstImpression is put together in such a great way. I think Cam has nowhere to go but up, If you checked out the project what did you guys think of it?
