This just in: I have suddenly realized that the moral conflict of one of my characters is actually going to be about ten times more interesting if the pairing I personally have been shipping and lamenting not being able to work into the plot was in fact canon, so my 2ghostly story now has canon qp lesbians in it. I mean, the story does open with one of them dying, which had been my main obstacle so far, but fuck it, I'm saying they've been together for a good three or four months before that happened now. It'll also give me a chance to discuss Meg's aromanticism and struggle to find someone who doesn't pressure her for romance in an intimate relationship, her and Lilah caring deeply for eachother and being sexually attracted to eachother without being romantically linked in any way, and Meg's stress over the fact that Lilah's spirit is still around but because Meg herself has such low perception/spiritual sensitivity, she'll never be able to see or speak to her directly. This...actually will add so much weight to so many of Meg's actions over the course of the plot, and I'm really looking forward to writing out some of the new scenes for them. Also, Jasper no longer is a cop, he works for an agency specifically founded to help lost/lingering spirits. Because it just makes more sense for the way he behaves in the plot. And I refuse to misrepresent an actual career people actually have for the sake of my story; that's what daytime television is for. I know cops get a lot of flack, and I know some of them have done some pretty shitty things over the years (and any time you form an organization who are given more credit than the average person and hold power over everyone they meet, you're going to draw in some nut-balls, I mean, almost every serial killer I've researched at least tried to be a cop at some point,) but lots of them genuinely got the job because they wanted to help people, and though they don't get the same coverage as the stories about the bad cops, every year there are just as many stories about cops doing truly amazing things to help out people and their communities. Somehow this wound up as a rant about why the police as a whole aren't something to be hated, and I don't know why I went there, but... The point is, Lilgan is now canon. QP bisexual women, yay~! They're seriously adorable though, you have no idea
