I don't think you understand!""I don't think you've met my mother." The blonde sighed, clutching the blanket against her chest. "It's three in the morning, Meg, you should be asleep. You certainly shouldn't be storming into my apartment to drunkenly rant about your father.""I'm gonna kill him!" Megan muttered, sinking down heavily onto one of the chairs. She stuck out like a sore thumb in here, next to all the cheap, hand-me-down furniture, even before Lilah turned on the bedside lamp; she always did. Lilah worried that one of these days, someone was going to mug Meg on her way out.She worried for the mugger."Calling at one in the morning," Meg was muttering, running her fingers roughly through her dark curls as she only ever did when she was tired. "Saying he's gonna be over in two days. Two days, Lie! How the fuck am I supposed to be ready for him in two days?! Fucking hate him..."Lilah swung her legs off of the bed and felt around with her toes until she found her slippers. "Meg, did you drive here?" she asked, sliding her feet in and standing up. The rounder woman let off a loud, harsh bark of something that might've been laughter, and fished a flask out of her pocket."I'm not stupid, Lie; I called a fucking cab." She took a long swig and groaned, propping one elbow on the table and pressing her forehead against the back of her hand."How much of that stuff have you had?" Lilah reached for the flask. Meg jerked back violently, nearly toppling off the chair, and stuck her arm straight out behind her, out of reach. They stood there like that, frozen, Lilah still reaching for where the flask had been, until Meg huffed and pulled it back in for another swig."Not nearly enough."Lilah let her hand drop, but she was not done with the topic. "Meg, you're swearing at me. You're not even going to remember this in the morning, are you?""I'm not swearing at you, you're just here while I'm swearing.""It's my apartment!""Good, then I came to the right place." Another swig. "Megan, give me the flask before you get alcohol poisoning!"Meg paused. "Isn't that what being drunk is?"Lilah held out her palm. "I'm already going to have to put up with your hangover, and you better not expect me to cook you breakfast after this. Give it!""No!" Meg shot to her feet and glared up at the other woman. "I've got the right to be drunk when fucking David decides he's dropping in practically fucking unannounced! I've earned it! I'm gonna earn it again over the weekend, when he's actually fucking here!""Megan...""Stop! Calling! Me! Megan!""Then. Give. Me. The. Flask.""No!"Lilah sighed and looked up at the ceiling. God forgive me, and please don't let her remember this in the morning, lest I wake up with a knife in my poor dead corpse. "If you keep drinking like this, one of these days you're going to wind up just like him."Megan froze."So please, Meg, I'm begging you, please put it DOWN and come to bed."There was a sudden cold pressure as the flask was thrust into her hand. Meg stalked past her with a growled, "Fine!" and there was a small creak from the bed at the shorter woman tumbled into it. Lilah took a few extra seconds to head out to the kitchen and empty the flask, rinse it out in the sink, and set it to the side to dry, before heading back to bed. Meg had pulled the blankets in so tightly, it was impossible to get back under them herself. Lilah laughed, and gently wrapped her arms around her waist, pulling the other woman close. "Thank you for coming here instead of drinking yourself stupid up on that big hill."Meg made a small, indignant sort of sound, but relaxed back into the hold, and a small part of Lilah wondered if they could do this forever. She knew they couldn't, of course, because Meg still didn't belong here anymore than Lilah would belong in her fancy manor on the hill, but it was late, and she was tired, and Meg smelled like wine and fancy shampoo, and maybe for now Lilah could let herself hope.

Oh the choices... I have too many characters whose names start with M, really. Let's see...MeganShe is exactly average height, and that's where her "averages" end. She wears silk shirts and jeans the way kings wear crowns, as a statement, a show of wealth, a reminder of who you wear dealing with. Her chestnut-brown hair falls in perfectly groomed curls down her back, and her nails sport a manicure which might very well have cost as much as the rest of the outfit. The slight blotchiness of her pale skin is hidden beneath a surprisingly plain makeup, doing nothing to draw any attention to her face. Her figure, her face, her features are round (in a few more years, she might be called "matronly,") and she makes no effort to hid her disdain for anyone staring at those curves. She holds herself stiff and straight, all cold brown eyes and upturned nose and a razor-sharp smile, with a presence that seems to suffocate the room. Her ink-stained fingers curl against her hips and she tips herself up on her toes, gaining a few more inches in a subconscious effort to appear larger than who she squares off against, and the message on projected couldn't be clearer if she wrote it in neon lights above her head: You Are Not Welcome Here.

Naming a character or series would be helpful, but for now I'll assume you mean 2ghostly and pick one of my mains at random. So, for this one, Meg. Who would be irreparably broken if her brother died in front of her; if she didn't see it, I think she could cope, but in front of her...no. No, there'd be no coming back from that. And she pretends to care about the family business, when what she actually cares about is image; Meg wouldn't give a rats ass about fashion or investment if her father wasn't ruining them and making her take things into her own hands.

Thomas would fight the giant duck, because his powers work better in one large burst than many little ones.Meg and Moreen would fight the giant duck, because it's easier.Riley would fight the giant duck because she'd want to try and ride it.Jasper and Lilah would fight the tiny horses because they're less intimidating sounding, but would definitely be overwhelmed by the numbers.Gerald would take the tiny horses because he's fast and they'd never manage to trample him.Grace would take the tiny horses because he's used to fighting from all sides.

*hugs Andy* Faaaaaaaar too sympathetically, the stupid bastards, they steal my heart and make me cry....*coughs and let's go* Serial killers are all well and good as characters, but you need more motive than just "serial killer." Just like any other character, they need to be fully developed. Mental illness? Research it, figure out the symptoms, figure out the character beyond it. Not mental illness? Damn, son, have you got some explaining to do!Basically, all antagonists need to be fully developed, even (especially) if they're serial killers. Just watch out for those who have families and social weaknesses and remorse and shit, okay?
