Emotions Iβve been feeling lately...
This past weekend I allowed myself to take a break from school and from everything else on my mind that was contributing to my stress and anxiety. On Friday, I went to the pool and got some much-needed sun. I did not realize how dull and trapped I felt after being inside studying nonstop the last couple of weeks. It was extremely restorative just breathing the fresh air and feeling the sun on my skin. For the first time in a long time I felt comfortable and at peace. On Saturday, I went to a football tailgate with my best friends and got to meet and get to know a lot of new people. I tend to feel very socially awkward in large social settings but for once I put myself out there and made an effort to be confident in myself. It was a huge confidence booster that people I have never talked to before accepted me for who I am and wanted to get to know me. I had been waiting for a really good day for a very long time, and finally getting it made all of the hard work worth it. Finally, on Sunday, I went to Weeki Wachee State Park. While it was nice to be connected to nature and removed from my phone and laptop, in the back of mind I was constantly worried about Monday and the weeks to come. Looking forward, I hope to be able to become more accustomed to balancing school and fun. The break was much needed, but I feel as if I will be even more overwhelmed because of it this week.
