SUMMARY: Castiel owns The Garrison, a popular club in a midsized Midwest town. He also has a dark past he can’t quite get away from and a darkness within, a dark, oily sludge, he's never quite been able to rid himself of.

Dean is in yet another new town, his brother just left for college on the other side of the country and his dad just up and vanished in the middle of the night without warning. He’s alone, angry, and bristling with a recklessness that mimics the untamed inferno raging behind his ribcage, something he’s fought to tame his entire life.

Does darkness always equate to evil? Does light always allude to purity?

Or do both extremes consume entirely, simply in different ways?

However of all of these, there is the one that I hope becomes my masterpiece... when I finally finish it quien sabe cuando. It’s called The Boy with a Strange Name. It’s HTTYD obviously. But I’ve given it my twists. I’ve been working on it since early 2018, the idea indeed starting to solidify after Race to the Edge ended. At that point we had started to get the leaked stills for The Hidden World, and I was trapped in the HTTYD fandom with no chance of escape. (that is true, still remains my fav fandom to this day) Anyway, this fic is special, in my book, in that I combined the two universes, the book world and the world of the animated franchise. I wanted to do something special with how the 12-book series had ended, so the story is set in the modern day. Two Hiccups, with their different names but still tell-tale descriptions.

However, we’ve reached 2021. I feel disappointed in myself. The story stands now, with 25 chapters released. At a word count of 77,645. And from the plotline, not even halfway through.

I’m at a constant debate with myself. Everyone writes at their own pace, it’s okay. Yeah but this has been in the making since 2018, and this is barely how far I’ve gotten? Some of the chapters weren’t even necessary, they can be considered filler. Okay, I’ll give you that, but they’re also essential to what is coming later.
