— Unexpected

Parties that looked more like social gatherings for bigwigs, whose main priority was to make new connections with other equally highly-placed personas, became a necessity he needed to finally get used to. However, Jiyong considered many of them plainly dull and in spite of not minding making those beneficial acquaintances, he still wished to meet someone who wouldn’t be a complete stranger among the guests and it wasn’t any different tonight. He must’ve already had the essential small talk with everybody in the room and so far the only laudable aspect of the event were the drinks.
Taking a little sip when he listened to another work-related monologue, he felt how his cheeks were getting sore from all the excessive smiling. Slightly nodding his head to give a sign he hadn’t zoned out yet, his eyes started roaming around the place and a tall, oddly familiar figure fell into his sight. Without dwelling on second thoughts, Jiyong excused himself politely and ambled towards the man, who began to resemble his old schoolmate more and more. A more genuine grin appeared on his face now and he looked up at the other. “Sunisa! Now that’s a surprise.”
