Wings is a 1927 American silent and synchronized sound war film which won the first Academy Award for Best Picture. While the sound version of the film has no audible dialogue, it was released with a synchronized musical score with sound effects. The original soundtrack to the sound version is preserved at UCLA. The film was directed by William A. Wellman. The movie script was rewritten by scriptwriters Hope Loring and Louis D. Lighton from a story by John Monk Saunders to accommodate Bow, Paramount's biggest star at the time.

Alas (del ingles Wings) es una película bélica estadounidense de cine mudo y sonido sincronizado de 1927 que ganó el primer Premio de la Academia a la Mejor Película. Aunque la versión sonora de la película no tiene diálogos audibles, se estrenó con una partitura musical sincronizada con efectos de sonido. La banda sonora original de la versión sonora se conserva en UCLA. La película fue dirigida por William A. Wellman. El guion fue reescrito por los guionistas Hope Loring y Louis D. Lighton a partir de una historia de John Monk Saunders para adaptarse a Bow, la mayor estrella de Paramount en ese momento.

The film stars Clara Bow, Charles "Buddy" Rogers, and Richard Arlen. Rogers and Arlen portray World War I combat pilots in a romantic rivalry over a woman. It was produced by Lucien Hubbard, directed by William A.
