Time Map: Left Behind in Sidewalk Shadows
Left Behind in Sidewalk Shadows depicts the shadows I saw during a walk around the neighborhood. During that walk, the shadows on the ground captured my attention, as each silhouette was unique to the object that casts it. I was intrigued by them and how they would change depending on the sunlight. As I walked forward on the sidewalk, the shadow I saw moved behind me, becoming what’s left at that moment in time as the next shadow appeared. The shadows defined the existence of what I saw during that journey. Each new shadow I encountered was representative of movement and change, both of which define the passage of time. Even if the viewer can’t relive the experience I had on the walk, the shadows pave the path I took and serve as markers in time.
