I looked at you, and saw my whole world. Everything I’d ever need sat behind those dark brown eyes. From late nights staying up, to early mornings making breakfast. You were it all. One person. One being held my entire existence in the palms of his hands. I promised myself I wouldn’t give my all anymore. That I would hold my heart in the top of a locked tower in fear of becoming broken again. But when you came around I let my castle crumble. Let my armor falter and I let you in. Told you my secrets and let you intoxicate every fiber of me. And one day you slipped away. I forget how easy people lose feelings. But I don’t think you lost yours truthfully. I don’t think you know what you’re feeling. Because love is new. And it’s hard at times. And we had many hard times. But I refuse to believe that this is the end for us. We will have more chapters. You will see me in every face you pass on the street. And you will look for me in crowded rooms although you know I am not there. Your parents will ask about me. If you’ve talked to me recently. If you have thought about me. And you will lie and say no but you have been thinking about me. When you come home and see my car driving down the street you will pull out your phone and look for my number. Because for a moment you will forget what you’ve done. And you will regret it. For a few days after you’ll think about calling, pull up my number just to stare at it. Unsure of your next move. And then you’ll build the courage to call. You will be hopeful. That I will answer and say yes to grabbing dinner at one of our old favorite spots. And then it will hit you. You miss me. And passively or vividly you’ve been thinking about me. Because I am unforgettable. So are you.
