By Thursday night, i was tired and my legs had given up! I visited the chateau de Versailles on Wednesday with Servan and my host mother and it took us about 45 minutes to get there. Just the size of the gate had left stunned. The place didn't have an end at least as far as my eyes could see. We joined the queue as the Asians constituted 60% of the crowd. We were allowed to enter one part of the enormous castle and all the time i thought, ' why does he need so many rooms?' 'Did he even appreciate what he had?' 'Oh my god so rich!' And stuff like that. Each room was outshining the other and no two rooms were the same. Amazing! You have to see to understand. If the interior was wow then the garden was just unimaginable! Acres and acres of land.. I stood on top of a flight of stairs and as far as I could see, it was the castle. On all sides, it stretched for miles! Autumn time just brought out the colours and it was so lovely for a girl who hasn't seen the change in leaf colour before. We walked past the small farm that Marie Antoinette wanted to be built for her and it was pretty cute. My aunt met me outside the castle and took me home. She made me some tambrahm food and then fed me some more as we went out for dinner! She dropped me back with yet another bag with some chutneys. Ahhh all set! Next day I went to the Louvre with my host siblings and one friend of Laetitia's. I made friends faster than usual with the guy as he explained to me a lot of history and the story behind some important paintings. We first headed to the Italian section and saw the Mona Lisa and the 10 meters of People in front of it clicking pictures. I walked really slow and tried looking and each painting in detail and so we could cover hardly anything. A few French paintings and then we left. The streets of Paris were lively and filled with tourists. The Parisians however stood out in a crowd. Chic clothes, hair on point, amazing posture as they strut around with their heads high. The four of us sat down at a cafè and talked for more than 2 hours before we said bye and headed back home. It was too much to take in. It was overwhelming!
