Tonight my friend and I had dinner. I invited her out for her birthday. We met years ago at Intel where I worked there for 17 years before I was impacted by the global layoff, the biggest in Intel’s history, that happened in 2016. My friend still works there. She told me about the changes that have taken place since the tech industry was hit hard and I was, “Wow.”

I miss working at Intel. It was fun, I gained the best experience working there, and met some great people that to this day we’ve kept in touch. Even the kid worked there for nearly 8 years.

I enjoy my current job a lot but I’ll always have a special place for Intel.

Right now I can hear the fireworks that go off every night at the state fair. I like it. I’ll miss them when the state fair comes to an end.

Right now I’m going to bed before I fall asleep in my recliner.

Your fic literally changed my life because I still think about it sometimes up to this day so idk if you ever do feel a bit down when it comes to engagement of your fics (since I know that can affect lots of writers, but if it doesn't than ignore this hehe), but you're writing is amazing and very much appreciated and your fic holds a special place in my heart, and now, my friend's heart too even though she didn't become a full stan-
