2021 RECAP, 2022 PLAN
Here we go again!
Reviewing the previous year and planning the next one worked for me. So I keep it as a mandatory post at the beginning of the year.
What I always forgot each year was mentioning my intangible achievements. August was beating me so hard. I almost gave up in early September. But where am I now? I am still alive and smiling. So what did I get during my retrospective back then? I have written it on a separate post with the title is “10 Life Hacks That Helps Me Survive 2021”.
Last year achievements
Read 5 books. I planned to read 10 books but just got half. So lazy.
Had 35 activities on Strava. While I planned to have 50 recorded activities. So-so!
Reached half marathon level on running. You rock!
Climbed several mountains: Andong, Prau, and Gajah.
Stay in my current company. Back in September, I believed it’s been 95% in the probability that I’ll leave at the end of the year.
Grow my investment portfolio. It’s not exponentially like I wished in 2020 but slow and steady is not that bad, right?
Managed to survive the 2022 delta variant peak. My housemate was tested positive in August. Then in my neighborhood, there were like 10 persons dead in a week. Three of them are close relatives. It was scary back then. I feel grateful that my family and I could pass it.
Successfully accepted and forgave. Successfully finished what was unfinished in years.
Next year goals
Read 10 books. Still the same target as last year.
Have at least 52 recorded activities on Strava. One activity per weak should be easy, right?
Have 4 half marathon activities in a year. I plan to reach the full-marathon level in 2023. So this year I need to prepare it well.
Climb another mountain, why not? I really miss the air, weather, and sunrise at an altitude above 3000 meters.
Be a good leader. Last year, I stepped down from being team leader only after a quarter. This year, I was believed to take over the leadership again in the software team of my project. I need to manage 16 people (the number is still increasing). I also need to communicate well with the other teams and the stakeholders.
Manage my financial and investment portfolio well. Also, I plan to buy my first car this year. A milestone that I’ve been preparing for 2 years. Aamiin.
Anyway this year, I will be 28 y.o. then the following year will be 29. I think it is a perfect time to get married(?). Currently, I am in a pretty good mental state and pretty good confident level to face 2022. So this year, I want to be serious. Bismillah! 🙂
