Happy Earth Day! I painted “Gaia”, on this longboard back in 2007, as gratitude to the beautiful spirit of our beloved planet. I am of the belief that the Earth is a conscious entity of it’s own, sprouting loving Life all over itself. It has made me sad that humanity has disrespected her so much, by treating nature as a commodity. Yes, she does want to feed us, but we went too far. We have hurt her in so many ways and now is the time we finally become less selfish and start healing her. We need to stop destroying the forests, stop dirtying the oceans, stop torturing the animals, stop using fossil fuels, etc, etc. This is a choice all of us individuals have to do by our daily practices and consumptions. Yes, sacrifices have to be made, but it’s worth it, Gaia is worth it! If we come out of this virus situation and don’t learn our lesson, we deserve the even worse karma coming after.
