2015 has been really great to me as I reflect on the last day of it! My #2015WasInsane Recap, Part 5 In addition to the the weird, exciting, and loving year that I had, here are a few of my favorite projects and collaborations I created this year (at least the projects I can share;) From the top left: I got to art direct and build the initial branding for the best hamburger spot in Mexico, @gringoburgermx ; I worked the mystical @thejoelynch on creating a Fantastic Fest poster for his incredible Xmas movie, "EVERLY". Ultra-limited collaborative "Urkel Jerk" MEGO-style doll, hand-made from scratch by @supersecretfunclub (I have a couple of these left that I will be auctioning off soon); One of a handful of screenprints I designed for PRIMUS (with my friend @zzzoltron ; Chloe and I got to visit the set of Suicide Squad and KILLER CROC LITERALLY GROWLED AT ME BECAUSE I ANNOYED HIM ON ACCIDENT AND IT WAS AWESOME; "Juggalobot" collaborative figure with @credendastudios whoop whoop! I had a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play dress up, draw and skype with a hero of mine, Ralph Steadman; "ROCKY" the champion of life toy collab with my favorite nostalgia-ridden madman @junkfed ; I designed the release poster for @straussschulson's dreamy, original and hilarious slasher homage, "The Final Girls". I'm looking forward to everything that's coming in 2016. My #2015WasInsane Recap, Part 4 In June 2015 I stepped down as a co-owner and creative director of Zerofriends, the art and apparel company I started with some of my best friends almost 10 years ago, and began focusing more on new, different, and exciting personal projects, some of which I'm excited to start sharing soon! My artwork and books are still available to purchase through Zerofriends, I'm just not as involved behind the scenes anymore. But as I said before, I'm not going anywhere. I'm just shifting gears like my hero, Vin Diesel.

My #2015WasInsane Recap, Part 4 It's no mistake that movies, particularly horror and cult films, have dictated what I like in life. And being inspired by (and getting lost in) what I like has always been therapeutical for me. So for years now, my personal therapy has been creating fast, messy and improperly painted portraits of my favorite characters from my favorite horror films. In April 2015, I released a book published by Ginkgo Press containing almost 200 of these budget-but-passionate "DOPPELGÄNGERS" paintings, ranging from characters as iconic as Freddy Krueger and Pinhead to as obscure as Manitou and Castle Freak. It's one of my favorite projects I've ever done. Unfortunately, I moved across the country at the exact time that the book was released so I never personally had the chance to do a proper promotional push for it. But I think that finally may happen soon. I want to drive around to weird places with a truck full of books and an old movie projector and a generator so you can come watch weird horror movies with me in a cornfield and we can hang out. That sounds fun.
