It's coming to the end of June soon - it also means 6 good and bad months will be gone shortly.
Since I started on exercise regime end February that is regular jogging (from twice a week to 5 times a week now) - life has changed completely. I no longer feel so lethargic and my body feels less strained. What I learnt about running so far is:-
- Morning runs are definitely better than running at anytime of the day. It sets your day right.
- Waking up at 5am daily may seem like a chore in the beginning but once your body is used to it (by sleeping by 1030 and waking up at the stated time), you'll wake up enthusiastically.
- A lot of people asked me what I think about when I was running. To be honest, nothing. But when I do - the only thing that goes through my mind is - "How about running an extra distance?" (Not long ones but just a little bit more. A little bit more each day.)
- That a mind that's bottled up with negative thoughts affect the run. Same for nervousness and anxiety. Running helps to calm your mind (if you allow it to, it will override it).
- It challenges your mind to achieve something greater. Running is about challenging what your mind tells you otherwise. And I like that. It's not so much about the distance nor the speed. It is the process of - "I-can-do-it" moment that matters. With that, I'm sure you can have breakthrough speed and distance.
Today's my hatch day and unlike previous years - I FEEL extremely grateful to the loved ones I have been blessed with. And what I realised over the one year - I've stopped searching for myself - what I want - where I wanna be - what i should or shouldn't. Instead, I embraced the challenges ahead with great positivity. I enjoy challenging myself to do things that I don't think I would. And this year will be all about that - doing things I thought I wouldn't have been able to do so or I fear doing.
Thanks to all who has showered me with their blessings and who have stayed with me during tough and happy times, supported me when I feel discouraged and most importantly believed in me. Let's charge with a grateful and compassionate heart because I think that's the sexiest thing a person could have (hah!)
