The day started normally, I think. Woke up feeling lethargic and entirely not ready for my presentation, but got up nonetheless. Got breakfast, walked to class. Sat through presentations; everyone’s were really good. I got kind of nervous since I didn’t prepare (like literally when I made my last slide I just saved it to my USB and did NOT practice at all; no speech or anything) but then it was my turn and I did. Okay…… I mean, not amazing. I talked entirely too fast, again – as usual, actually. I also got some grammar wrong but whatever. I made stuff up on the spot so I didn’t memorize, so it’s kind of a given such things would happen. The presentations ended, I was happy. We moved on.

Class was good. Nothing new. The new lesson (on changing views of marriage [GOD DAMN IT THIRD YEAR ALREADY HAD SO MUCH OF THIS]) was more interesting than other lessons I’ve read. There are 110 new vocab words in this lesson though, which kind of fucking sucks. I know a large portion I think??? Idk, there’s always room to improve. Also, I am making the switch from today on to write in simplified. I have relied on traditional for TOO DAMN LONG

Also I got banana milk during break. I’ve always heard about this banana milk (TAEMIN?????) so I finally tried it. It was interesting; I didn’t know what I thought of it at first, but I think I definitely like it. In small portions, though!

Today was super duper hot so I just wanted to get food after class and go back to the classroom to wait for tutoring, but the noodle place right next to the classrooms was closed!!!!!!! I could kind of make out the handwritten notice on the door but it was hard to read because 1) simplified and 2) handwritten and 3) what’s Chinese?????????? So we just went to the noodle place by the dorms.

THIS TIME I didn’t get luroumian and instead I got huiguorouchaofan!!!!! And it was rather good! I was happy with my choice. In fact, so happy that I got it again for dinner (lmao)

Went back to the room; was greeted in the hallway by tons of maids. They talked to each other in Sichuanese when I approached my room; as I was unlocking it they told me my bathroom was dirty and I had to move rooms. I opened the door and yeah, it was fucking dirty. I don’t believe I’ve written too much about it before, but our bathroom constantly flooded (if not every day, close to it) and it was pretty bad. I think the water got backed up in the drain in the floor, and then our sink was also plugged up. So they were cleaning out the drains, and they said it would take a while. As such, we had to move rooms. We took a bit of time before tutoring to move all of our stuff to the fifth floor; SO MANY PEOPLE were such fucking sweethearts and helped us move. After that, we got settled in. Our fridge works, but our wifi (which we were previously stealing…) and our air conditioner do not work. More news on that in a bit. After all of that, we went for tutoring.

It was SO hot on the way to tutoring but it was a good time. I was lol’ing at the end of it because I wanted to ask my tutor if 搞什麼鬼 was offensive, but I didn’t know how to say offensive. Turns out it’s 有攻擊性 and then my tutor told me about 攻 and 受. THE MOMENT SHE WROTE IT DOWN ON THE PAPER I WAS LIKE “THOSE CHARACTERS ARE FAMILIAR” AND THEN SHE EXPLAINED IT AND I WAS LIKE “YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SEME AND UKEEEEEEEEEEE”

Then we talked about gay stuff for a bit, it was great

Went back to dorms and checked on air conditioning; it wasn’t working properly. It’s blowing air, but it’s not cold air, and the room feels really humid and stuffy. I asked people to check on it; they said it’d work soon, so I left and worked on homework in Matt’s room.

After forever doing that (and not entirely finishing), Matt and Molly went on a run while I finished the rest of the homework. After they came back, we went to eat at… the noodle place… and yes, as I wrote earlier, I got the same dish I had for lunch. It was good though. It was good.

After that, we ate Brock’s watermelon in Matt’s room while waiting to watch a movie. I went back to my room to shower before watching (cause it’s pretty late in the evening) but by then no one wanted to watch and it’s honestly a better idea to just sleep early. I’m excited to sleep before ungodly times.
