Isn't it funny when people (usually a group of friends or colleagues) wear the same color shirt. Sample: "Naka-red kayong apat, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" or "Uy, mukha kayong si Dora at si Barney" or "May sayaw kasi kami mamaya kaya kami naka-costume".
Well, it is even more rare to have a group of people to form something way way cooler even if their shirts don't match. Like what happened today in the faculty room. Our visitors Mark Yu, Mark Serra and Stephen Bianes were wearing blue, black and red, respectively. While I, Sir Val and Mam Joice were wearing yellow, green and pink, respectively. Anong pattern ang naiisip nyo? Hehehehe.

A song dedicated to the late "Geronimo" aka Osama Bin Laden
"Mommy, who is Osama Bin Laden and why are people happy he is dead?" As I read tweets from mothers having hard time explaining to their kids 8-years old and below who Osama Bin Laden is, this song suddenly hit my neurons. It is one of the songs from the latest album of Deftones, Diamond Eyes. I don't know why but after reading so much news about what transpired during the helicopter assault that killed USA's number one enemy Geronimo, I suddenly thought (without any certainty but it applies) that he could actually be the "Prince" pertained to in this song.
PRINCE by Deftones I relate to your kind your design (your devotion to wane) (get get get get get) Get your brain on the Prize Then die INSIDE [Chorus 1:] Mindset...of a killer With your mind (out faith) It's a game that we like, we crave (yet nobody waves...) Anyway you decide you try Then you DIE... [Chorus 2:] Mindset...of a killer With your gaze you paint the room Blood red with your tears Born from the stains Hey you can't stop now,row by row, I'm all doubt Covered in black and gold, No one cares No one knows Look into the world outside, it's okay I'm alright Now open your empty hand, in come the flood, in come the end. Click the raise the device (get face) Then clear out the room Blow kisses wave them goodbye... GOODNIGHT... Goodnight... GOODNIGHT
MaSaPaTa: what you get after being a student, a teacher and a person all at the same time
Five semesters of sleepless nights. Five semesters of grueling student life (not to mention I work as a full time teacher). I remember during my first sem in graduate school, I took 9 units (3 major subjects) while I work full time in St. Jude College and part-time in UST. Do I sound like I'm complaining? Nope. Wala pa yan. I also joined PPTA Educators SIG and was an active member. But wait, there's more! Most Sundays of my life are dedicated to attending seminar-workshops. I went to UST Hospital or CRS and took Sir Val's manual therapy training course. Why do I have to burden myself with all these? My objective was simple: to better myself. The answer might not be acceptable to others. The answer might not be simple for a student who complains that he/she has 3 quizzes tomorrow! "To better myself" might be plainly different from a student's goal of aiming for "uno" rather than learning the technique and performing it accurately (so that future patients can benefit from his/her skills). The answer, up 'til now, is unacceptable to my parents who keep on asking me “why do you still have to go on even if it is giving you bottomless amount of stress? Why not rest?” Clearly, each one of us has his own interpretation of learning, or lifelong learning for that matter. After my first semester in graduate school, I've decided to revise my prioritization in life. I had to drop some responsibilities. But it didn't make my life any easier. Dropped responsibilities were replaced with new ones. The only difference is, the new ones paved way to meeting new friends and acquiring new knowledge. Salamat Jah! I am so thankful for being part of UST's Educational Technology family as one of their eLearning coaches. I am also super thankful for becoming part of PPTA's Board of Officers because my colleagues, especially our Madam President, gave me an opportunity to learn more about public service and aiming high for/with everyone in the profession, which is something that I will not learn by just standing inside the classroom while holding a piece of chalk (or whiteboard marker for today's context). :D As what Mam Che and I had agreed upon when we had our talk about studying, we defined graduate school as being able to do and finish a degree that will cultivate your higher learning skills without having to leave all other responsibilities behind. Your work plus your studies, throw in also your responsibilities as a mother/father or a bread-winner, plus all the other things that you do in your life like being a clinician or a friend or a significant other, these are all part of a graduate study. You cannot separate them from each other, because attaining a higher degree is not the same as being a full time student only. Being in graduate school is being a student living a real life, in the real world. P.S. To my CRS co-faculties who will be future MSPTs too (Joice, Loui, Abi, Mam Jo, Kuya Beboi, Mam Tin, Sir Verge) help each other til the END. Do not let each other down. The baggage might be heavy and hard to carry but everything gets lighter if everyone lends a helping hand. I'm here in case you need me. :) I just wanna say thank you so much to my bestfriends who attended my graduation ceremonies. And to all my best buds who weren't there: Dimple, G-two, Leonard, Luwi, Lien, Chet, Crissy, my college barkada, my family, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

Ted, Robin, Lily, Marshall and Barney in a BAND!!!
This is just one of the awesomest episodes I've ever seen! The writers blew my brain away with their awesomest wordplay ever!!! Ok! Ok?! Not Ok! Ok is Lame! Gay bar! I'm pretty sure it's pronounced Lamé The best part of the episode? This:
04.03.11 Trio, Binge, Myth, Body
I am still keeping up with my pending posts. Here's one of my favorite times of the year, a day when Archie, Dimple and I got together. A good day with a good company is always celebrated with good food. And that's just what we did the whole afternoon! Nom nom nom nom.
Semi lunch and semi merienda at La Piadina; sweets from Dulcinea
at La Piadina
Of course we took "profile-ish" photos while chatting:
at Dulcinea
After stuffing ourself with lotsa food, we then went to Neobabylon Bldg to see the famous exhibit: The Myth of the Human Body. I'm glad my bestfriends liked it.
After seeing the exhibit, we finally called it a night. Thanks Dimps and Archie for a half-day full of chicas and food. I swear guys, whenever I'm with you both, everything in my life looks so positive. See you again Dimps, soon! And sana this time, it will be out of the country na. God bless!
04.09.11 Baguio with Sanders Family
Yeah, I know, another late post. Hehe. Gosh! This was actually a short-notice semi-planned out-of-town trip. At first I was hesitant to join coz we might not fully enjoy our IT (dahil biglaan), but then I recalled that Mam Ems spent most of her summer time growing up in Baguio. And that made me decide, kering-keri na ang IT! Join na! We stayed in their 4-bedroom rest house. I had one attic room all to myself. I swear those two nights are my favorite 2011 summer nights because it's chilly! Sarap matulog! The trip was both for the kids and the adults. The kids enjoyed playing in the park while the adults (ahem!) sat most of the time and ate (mostly me). Masaya na kami sa parelax-relax sa tabing-kalsada na ndi mo magagawa sa siyudad ng Maynila!
Sanders family, different places in Baguio
I part from the family from time to time so I can wander around by myself. Most of the time, when they see me, I'm eating mangga! So during our last day, madalas akong nawawala or nahihiwalay sa kanila. Kennedy or Maddie or Nixon (the presidents) would ask: "Where's Tita Rian?". Mam Ems: "baka bumibili ng mangga!" Hahaha! I swear, almost every kanto na may mangga, I buy! Hihihi. I also tried their famous binatog. Most of our meals are home-cooked by none other than Mam Emily herself! My fave among the food she prepared: garden fresh salad with strawberry vinaigrette! Oh ha, napakain ako ng gulay ng di oras! And of course, who would forget about Volante's pizza?! L-O-V-E!
In the Philippines, aside from Iloilo, I can say that Baguio is one of my fave places to do food tripping!
Maddie loves smiling not only for the camera but almost all the time (except when the presidents fight). Isn't she adorable?!
For me, hindi naluluma ang boating activity sa Burnham lake. The kids suggested that we do a race from one end of the lake to the other. Girls vs. boys. I forgot who won! (Deim, I'm only 25 y/o and my memory's failing me already!)
Happy! Just happy. Thanks Mam Ems and Mike sa pagbitbit sa akin. See you soon kiddos!
