"MULADHARA" aka the root chakra or 1st chakra || 40x40 acrylic on canvas || Primary function is grounding and security 🔸 Divine principle is simplicity and basics 🔸With an open root chakra you're keen on taking care of yourself and others + self preservation and stability is strong + your being is grounded in the physic plane 🔸
Original Source: spirit-dreamr; Original Post: 7-12-2016 The First Chakra* Muladhara, the Sanskrit name of this chakra, means root or support. It’s called the Root Chakra (or Base Chakra) and sits at the base of the spine (in front of the tail bone) between the anus and genitals. It’s our foundation. Everything starts with the base. The Base Chakra influences several aspects of our lives, from sexuality, lust, obsession, to safety, survival, and security. It grounds us to our family and friends. It fills us with basic needs. It propels us forward in life. It keeps us healthy and content. The associated color is red. The symbol is 4 red petals, around a square containing a downward-pointing triangle. The ages of development are 1-8 years old. The main issues are survival and physical needs. Goals are physical health/fitness, grounding, stability and security. The life lesson is standing up for oneself. Societal associations are tribal power and family identity. The sacramental association is baptism. The element is Earth and the ruling planet is Saturn. The astrological association is Capricorn. The sense associated with this chakra is smell. Fragrances and incense/oils include Cedarwood, Myrrh, Musk, Lavender and Patchouli. Elephant is the associated animal and the archetypes are functional-Earth Mother and dysfunctional-Victim. Proteins and meats are the foods associated with this chakra. The associated body parts are bones and the skeletal structure. The parts of the body affected by our Base Chakra are adrenal glands, feet, legs, hips, bones, joints, sacrum, lower intestines and digestive system. Physical dysfunction is osteoarthritis. Emotional dysfunctions are mental lethargy, spaciness, unfocused mind, difficulty achieving goals and being incapable of inner stillness. You know you’re out of balance when you have lower back pain, varicose veins, water retention and insecurities. Crystals, gemstones and minerals to use for balancing our Base Chakra are Ruby, Rose Quartz, Cinnabar, Bloodstone, Garnet, Red Jasper, Brecciated Jasper, Tiger’s Eye, Hematite, Black Obsidian, Smoky Quartz, Black Onyx, Snowflake Obsidian, Red Calcite, Falcon’s Eye, Zircon, Mookaite, Black Banded Agate, Jet, Black Opal and Petrified Wood. Place the crystal, gemstone or mineral between your knees. * I have accumulated this information from several sources over a period of 20+ years. Unfortunately, I never documented most sources. One definite source was The Book of Chakra Healing by Liz Simpson. (This is a super fantastic book!) Some paragraphs may be an entire quote, I’m not sure. But, most of the information I gathered was intermingled, same topics mixed together.
