I assume this is 1D songs. in no particular order: Act My Age, Ready to Run, Half a Heart, Happily, Don’t Forget Where You Belong.

14: Is there a One Direction song that makes you cry?

not in a good way

28: Sort the boys into Hogwarts Houses.

I will totally entertain arguments for any of the boys in any house, which is I think the nature of people and putting them in boxes, so they should be in the houses they choose themselves, which is, I think, the nature of sorting hats. 

51: What’s your favorite fanfic?

I love a lot of different fics for a lot of different reasons, but my current fave is the most recent one I read, which is Warm Blooded by (currently) anonymous.

9: What’s your favourite tattoo on each of the boys?

aaaaah! this is so hard. I have too many favorites on Harry. It used to be might as well… but now I think it’s a toss-up between the birds on his collar bones and the motherfly on his belly. though I also do really love his laurels. Basically his torso is my favorite. My fave Zayn tattoo is Zap while it was still red, or the gorgeous one on his left wrist. My fave Liam one is his »». Any tattoo Niall got would be my favorite. I really want him to get the + that the others have, but only if he’s feeling it.  

11: Name three of your favourite funny moments.

is zayn eating off harry’s candy thong a funny moment or a sexy moment? both? that’s one. I still laugh out loud whenever I see the bit of This is Us where Harry says “then Niall would have to be the mysterious one”. and basically every time Harry tells a terrible joke on stage. 

36: What would you get your favourite for christmas?

assuming we were friends, and not like fan and popstar, I’d probably make him something. Like maybe a cookbook with recipes of things I knew he liked, or something like that. I can’t imagine buying him anything, unless I had discovered that he is not one of those people who need to pick out their own notebooks/journals, and then I might buy him one of those. (I suspect he might be one of those people, though)

65: Has your fav always been your fav?

1. i will remember it.

i am terrible with titles. terrible. like if i'm going to the movies someplace with too many screens i have to wait for my friend to get there before i buy a ticket because i have no idea what whatever we're seeing is called. so this is perfect.

2. i can imagine there's a story behind it.

i can just see them sitting around trying to decide which track to name it after, and one of them says, "what about Four?" "Like track four? which one is that again?" "No, let's call it four. Like it's our fourth album." ... ... and arguments for and against, and discussion, and one of them talking the others around slowly... 

idk. obvs there's lots of ways it could have happened. but it feels like a story to me, and I love a story.

1.What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

idek if they are OTPs for people in the strictest definition, because I mostly see people talking about them as fave crack pairings, or fave ‘weird ships’ but I absolutely do not get pairings the include Nick and anyone in 1D but Harry. all other Nick pairings are NOTPs for me, because I’m that OTP girl. 

2.Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?

well I discovered recently that my definition of BroTP is RADICALLY DIFFERENT from most other people’s in fandom. I always used it to mean basically FWB where them being BFFs came first, and if they ever stopped hooking up it wouldn’t have any kind of negative effect on their friendship, because that is the strongest core. So I would have said I BroTP ship Zayn/Harry, because i am all about them having lots of sex and loving each other completely, but not in any way dating or having an exclusive relationship. But now I know that is not how other people define it, I’d say no? I can’t think of any pairings where I’d say no way could I see sex there if I think they’re bros at all. 

8. Unpopular opinion about One Direction?

the number one trend I have noticed with Narry fic is there is NOT ENOUGH of it. I feel like I mostly see it in tagfic, or gifset fic. But when I do see it, it seems on the whole to be aimed at making Niall and Harry both happy. Which makes ME happy. Shocking no one who has read my fic, or heard me talk about fic, or had me request fic, happiness is where it’s at for me. So two rays of sunshine making each other happy is GREAT.

It also seems that for the most part, Harry is written as the more experienced one, and Niall less so. But Niall doesn’t seem all that often to be written as naive or shocked that Harry might want him, despite that.

They seem a very popular pairing for Frat-boy AUs, possibly because of Niall’s hats and baggy jeans, or maybe because of something else that I don’t really see because I went to a university that didn’t have any greek life to speak of, but I am here for all high school and college AUs, so I am not sad about this trend. Just about the part of it where I mostly only see the fics getting TALKED ABOUT and not actually WRITTEN. (though there is also the aforementioned—in my Zarry answer—not reading much lately, so there might be great Narry I’m missing.) 

ZARRY FIC! \o/

I should probably preface this by saying that I don’t know if I have read that much Zarry fic? I am super bad at seeking out fic, and tend to read what is put in front of me, or, lately, read very little, so I’ve mostly read PWP-type fic for them and this will probably be more my fic headcanons for them than actual on-point trends. But I love them as a pairing SO MUCH. 

I think the number one thing I like about them as a pairing is how well they suit the FWB tropes. I think because a) they both seem to love uncomplicatedly and frankly—I think of Zayn just busting out with, “I love you,” to his bandmates all the time in interviews and stuff— and b) they super CANNOT STOP TOUCHING EACH OTHER. And they both come across as guys who appreciate the enjoyment of an orgasm, and wouldn’t let the sharing of them get in the way of how they love each other as bandmates and friends. 

Somehow they seem to do less talking than most of the other 1D pairings. I credit this to the way they both have of really making the person they are with seem like the center of their attention (in Zayn’s case, only when he finds the person worthwhile, in Harry’s more as a reflexive thing), so they don’t HAVE to talk as much. They can shorthand because they know that the other one is following them. 

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fic where they don’t like each other, even if they’re exes, or only just met, or whatever. Zayn seems to really like Harry even if he doesn’t know why, and vice versa. I hope that this is universal, and not just the fics I’ve seen, because Zayn and Harry being friends is important to my heart, even while better arguments can be made for every other combination (except maybe Liam and Harry) spending a lot of time hanging out together outside of band stuff at one point or another in 1D’s existence. But I think that goes along with the fwb thing. Neither of them seem to need proof of friendship. It just IS. 

I also feel like Zarry pairings are more likely to be ~canon-based fic than a lot of the other 1D pairings, probably due to the FWB thing. Zayn can be with Perrie and they have an understanding that she can bang her girls and Zayn can bang her boys, and boom, Zarry. (this could DEFINITELY be my love for short fic over longfic though)
