I come from 1chan, an imageboard with a twist and it could be brilliant, if we had more regular users... Basically, it requires an e-mail and password to sign up and create an account so, if anonymity isn't your thing, you could have a username and become a well known member of a very friendly community. We dont use boards, we use tags. To submit a post, type up the thread with an image and use the appropriate tags that go with the post, so if you don't want to see gore, you can filter it and never have to see it.
