Although EpJer is often treated as chapter six of 1Bar, the letter predates the larger book by roughly 150 years. Some scholars have suggested that 1Bar 1-5 are a continuation of the Greek version of Jeremiah 51 - Jer 52 being an appendix that echoes, in part, 4 Kingdoms 24-25.

And they have carried away the dear beloved sons of the widow, and left her who (that) was alone without [desolate of] her daughters. ( 1Bar 4:16, 1894 RV updated )
