November 23, 1981 - May Pang, Mike McCartney, Cynthia Lennon and Sid Bernstein at the launch party for Mike's book “The MACS” held at the Horn of Plenty Restaurant in New York City.
September 26/27, 1981 - Long-time friend May Pang accompanied Cynthia to the New York Metro Beatlefest where she had a dealer’s table in the Flea Market offering autographed posters of her art work (drawings that had illustrated her 1978 book, A Twist of Lennon) for $30 each.
Cynthia had been staying with May while stateside for her first American exhibition at Southampton’s Tower Gallery which had opened Labor Day weekend. Cyn’s first appearance at Beatlefest was low-key but still attracted much attention when fans were surprised and delighted to meet her.
Note: It’s not customary for Flea Market sellers to be “invited”, “announced” or expected to speak. Anyone who pays the fee for a table is in.
