        ⚓︎   💋he can have a kiss from the wife, her fingers carding through his hair, gently brushing it away from his face. jackie looks at him with nothing but fondness.   “ missed you, baby. ” ;; @18husbands​

           blackbeard didn’t soften around others. he was a pillar or strength and his very name struck fear into peoples hearts. but with his wife, it was another story. she’d stripped away the layers that blackbeard held, easily. one of the few who saw blackbeard, his accomplishments, and edward and his softness and still loved him regardless. all while bragging about how good a pirate he was. it was a nice change of pace from the open sea, coming home to actually relax a bit. 

          being able to kiss her was also always a bonus.

                     it’s a joke and he knows its a joke but it doesn’t mean the way his broken heart doesn’t sink a little in his chest. because before maybe his crew would’ve done so. but now? now he can feel the tension between them all building up as they drift further and further from bonnet’s crew. 

                   ❝  if we find him, feel free.  ❞ the kraken mumbles with a shrug, hands sliding from the railing and bottle coming to his lips to try and cover the fact that his face fell more than he’d have liked. because deep down he didn’t want bonnet dead, as much as he hated what he’d done to him. but blackbeard? blackbeard wouldn’t let someone get away with that, now would he?

how      long      had                he      clung      to      the       side      of       the             ship         ?              he’d      squeezed      his      eyes       shut               &                clung      to       the       long       forgotten             rope       swing       ,             clutching       the       frayed       tethers      until      his              fingers             numbed               &                his      palms      rubbed       raw       ,             bleeding.             he       didn’t      have       the              strength             to      pull      himself      up      onto       the      ship       ,      not      by       the              second             day      ,      he      was      shaking       too      hard.      but      his      quiet             sobs             that      night       had              finally              drawn      the      attention      of       someone      on              deck      ,               &                thankfully      ,       it       was      somebody       he             cared             about.       now       ,      here      they      were      ,             huddled              on       the       deck      under       the      light       of      a             dim       lantern      ,              lucius       shaking       ,       crying      ,      not      even             wanting              to       know       how             bad              he       looked.      heavy       lids             shut             again      ,       pushing      himself      in      closer       to       fang’s              warmth      ,             muffling      a       sob       into       the       front       of      his             broad       chest       ,              pulling       himself       back       to       take       his             face              in      his      hands      ,       bringing      him      in       for      a       long      ,             desperate              kiss      ,      only      pulling      away      to      murmur      ,                   ❛            thank      you       ,              i      ..      i       thought       i      was      gonna       ..          ❜                    before       curling      himself      in      closer      ,             shaking       ,             comforted      only       by      fang’s              arms             around      him.

⚓︎ don’t be a coward let ed sit in jackie’s lap, let her babygirlify the legendary pirate blackbeard 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ ;; @18husbands​

        ed doesn’t think anything of it. after all, it’s a privilege to be flaunted as spanish jackie’s favorite husband. anyone would wish to be so lucky, after all, it granted status around the republic. a pirate as feared as blackbeard himself already had plenty of that, however, so simply getting to relax when he was back with his wife was a simple pleasure he wouldn’t take for granted. 

      after all, the her and her bar were his home away from the sea. he’d be nothing but relaxed, there. so sitting comfortably in her lap as he told a hyped up exaggeration of a tale from his last trip was exactly what he wanted to pass the time with. her hand settled against his waist, thumb finding the skin under the cut of his shirt and petting gently as she laughed along with his story. 

     home. 

     he’d thought he’d forever be searching for something like that. a place where he was comfortable, that was safe. but this? this was it, wasn’t it? 

​        he touch is surprisingly gentle, though that’s probably because he’d somehow become one of her favorite husbands over time (and perhaps the distance since he was out at sea more than he was back on at the republic ). finger’s brushing gently over his face as if trying to study the ways he’s changed since he was last in -- sadder, heartbroken, angrier. 

      but at some point he had laughed, and smiled a true genuine smile that she hadn’t seen since his act of grace. since his heart had been taken from him and scattered to the winds.

       and he almost, almost, cries at that moment. at something so simple, but unlike when izzy had taken his face in his hands -- there he is -- this was sincere. this was gentle affection not found amongst people like them. this was true. ed finding his way back to himself in whatever small way he could. and all he can do is close his eyes and lean into the touch, taking a deep breath.
