Well this isn't like anything I've ever released before, I took a break from music, but I think I'm ready to start again. This is a work in progress. Flapping bird picture from Fran Tapia

Song 4 - 'Tis Not That I Did Choose Thee
Tis not that I did chose thee by joeday
This hymn was originally written in 1838 by Josiah Conder. All the arrangements I've heard seem to lean toward country in a 2:4, upbeat kind of structure; I've certainly arranged it that way. If I'm not mistaken Tim Smith's old band, The Parsons, did it more rockabilly style. The difficulty with those arrangements was always that we'd sing through the lyrics so fast it was really easy to overlook how deep they are. So, it seemed like a good idea to me to inject a bit more space to let them sink in.
New melody from beginning to end. I think the chorus melody came together really nice. The vocals are a bit weak on the choruses because I was trying to record a solid take at 11:45pm while not waking up all the Day ladies. Aahhhhh...the life of a family man songwriter! :)
