Made a lot of progress today!

27 minutes at bedtime
The meditation was amazingly good last night. When the 25 minute reminder bell rung, I felt strongly that I could meditate forever ! The subconscious mind may not be such a bad place to practice your meditation technique. Yes, in the subconscious there are strong pulls to sleep and allow the dreaming mind to dream without the fetter of meditation.
There is also this uninterrupted quality about the subconscious. It is a space where the mind can go on endlessly without getting interrupted. Maybe people coma experience this. Just keep dreaming without ever slipping into the dream-free deep sleep or the dream-free waking conscious. This uninterrupted quality is very very suitable for a meditation session without distracting images.
The mind does not behave like a frustrating two year old when one finds the smoothly functioning subconscious. There is less of your patience tested here. However, the smooth quality has to be discovered and then rediscovered each subsequent session. That can be a problem if you have only just found it. That’s me. Sigh ! ‘Can’t say if my meditation tonight will be half as good as last night’s session. Godspeed us !
