Paul and Mal arrive home from the US on 12th April 1967, where Paul gives the waiting press a statement that the Beatles are definitely not splitting up. Paul had spent a week in San Francisco, Denver and Los Angeles to celebrate Jane Asher’s 21st birthday. On the plane home, Paul had been working on his initial ideas for what would become Magical Mystery Tour.
'1986' UK printing of The Hunt for Red October with the movie photo cover. That's the year given inside although the film didn't come out until 1990 so I'm not sure how they managed that. I take it they must have had a lot of pages printed out somewhere just waiting to stick a new cover on.
Originally published in 1984 it was the debut novel from insurance salesman Tom Clancy (12 April 1947-1 October 2013). Not a bad start to his writing career.
