"It's the little things during the apocalypse, you know?"
The spoken words make Daryl pause in his step, looking over his shoulder at the Asian who looks optimistic and, dare he say, enthusiastic. There wasn’t much to look forward to now these days, so he doesn’t try to dampen the mood, instead, snorting and shaking his head, looking down and away. If the other was looking for happiness in places where it was hard to find, who was Daryl to stop him? Kid deserved a bit of light, even if they were fending for their lives at every corner.
Daryl stepped over branch, his boots crunching on leaves as he led the way. Glenn wanted to help him with the snares, which was fine with him. A little company helped make the day go quicker, and it wasn’t without a little selfishness of keeping Glenn near. Just a little harmless unrequited crush, and Daryl wasn’t really looking for anything to come off of it other than friendship. Letting Glenn come was his attempt at extending that olive branch, one way past overdue. He couldn’t stop the small grin, saying as they walked, “What are ya thinkin’ about? What is makin’ this all okay to you, man?”
