THE DUCHESS DIARIES
For her first public engagement of the year, Catherine visited the Anna Freud Centre's Early Years Parenting Unit on 11 January 2017 in Holloway, London.
The Anna Freud Centre is a charity which focuses on children's mental health and if one of Catherine's patronages. Its Early Years Parenting Unit works with parents suffering from personality and their children under five years of age who are at the risk of being taken away. The main aim of the charity is to help the parents seek help for their personality disorders and strengthen the parent-child relationship to help keep families together and pave way for more emotionally attuned parenting.
During her visit Catherine spoke to a group of mothers who had been a part of the EYPU's treatment programmes and later took part in a “Theraplay” session which aims to promote the attachment relationship between parents and kids.
