A Decade of Sonic Brilliance!
Posted July 1st, 2025 ā by Mr. TMarsh-Connors
Yesterday, June 30th, Apple Music quietly turned 10 years old.Ā Ten years since Apple decided to shake up the music industry again, ten years of redefining what a digital music experience couldĀ and shouldĀ feel like. And yet, despite this milestone and everything Apple Music has achieved, I find myself asking a question that I shouldnāt have to ask in 2025:
Why are some of you still using Spotify?
Letās be blunt here. No sugar-coating, no marketing fluff just facts.
š·Ā Apple Music Is Cheaper.
Thatās right. Apple Musicās pricing undercuts Spotify, particularly with the annual plan option. If you're deep in the Apple ecosystem (which, letās face it, most of you are), it becomes even more cost-effective through Apple One bundles. And unlike Spotify, thereās no tier-gaming or a need to constantly dodge price hikes dressed up as āimprovements.ā
šĀ The Sound Quality Is Untouchable.
Apple Music gives youĀ Lossless,Ā Dolby Atmos, and the downrightĀ magicalĀ Spatial Audio. Put on your AirPods Max, press play on a properly mixed trackāLeonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Hans Zimmer and suddenly you'reĀ insideĀ the song. Not just listening to it.Ā Feeling it.
Spotify? Still flirting with āHiFiā like itās a mythical unicorn. Still hasnāt delivered.
šĀ It Just Works.
Apple Music on iPhone. On Mac. On Apple Watch. On HomePod. On Apple TV. With Siri. It integrates seamlessly. No fiddling. No disconnects. No awkward app behavior. Just smooth, elegant, reliable music designedĀ by Apple, for Apple users. That means something.
š§ Ā Thereās a Human Behind the Music.
And hereās where Apple Music truly distances itself from the competition.
Spotifyās playlists? Cold. Calculated. Repetitive. You can practically hear the algorithm gasping for originality. You get a generic mix of whateverās trending or some endless loop of background noise.
But Apple Music? ItāsĀ curated.Ā Thereās a real human brain and heart behind playlists likeĀ Essentials,Ā Deep Cuts, andĀ Behind the Songs. It feels personal. You can sense someone sat down and thought, āWhatās the mood here? Whatās the story this playlist is trying to tell?ā Itās about context, emotion, and musical discovery not just data mining.
šļøĀ Recaps Worth Keeping
Spotify Wrapped gets all the noise every Decemberābut Apple Musicās year-in-review is polished, minimal, and dignified. Plus, monthly recaps?Ā Yes, please.Ā It doesnāt just give you stats it gives youĀ insightĀ into your listening habits. Itās the difference between a shallow mirror and a well-written diary.
š Final Thought:
In 10 years, Apple Music has quietly becomeĀ the most refined,Ā most immersive, andĀ most thoughtfulĀ way to experience music digitally. It's elegant. It's powerful. It's beautifully curated. And for those of us who care about theĀ artĀ of music not just the background noise, itās the only choice.
So if youāre still stuck on Spotify, maybe itās time to stop listening to the algorithms and start listening to the music.
Happy 10th, Apple Music. Hereās to many more years of sonic excellence.
