Our Rich Heritage, 10a: Lemon Pudding Cake

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter or regular margarine

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs, separated

3 tablespoons flour

1 3/4 cups milk

1/4 cup lemon juice

3 tablespoons grated lemon peel

Confectioners sugar

1)Preheat oven to 350F.

2)In large bowl with electric mixer, beat butter with granulated sugar until well blended. Beat in egg yolks until blended.

3)At low speed, blend in flour. Add milk, lemon juice, and peel.

4)Beat egg whites until soft peaks form when beater is raised. Using a wire whisk or rubber scraper, fold egg whites into lemon mixture.

5)Turn mixture into shallow, 8 1/2 inch baking dish. Set dish in pan; pour boiling water into pan to depth of 1 inch.

6)Bake 40 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean.

7)Let stand at least 25 minutes before serving. Sprinkle too lightly with confectioners sugar. Serve warm or cold, with whipped cream if desired.

#10a the term "superiors" is given to a group of people that are higher in rank or status than yourself. A boss for example is a basic idea of a superior. The goal for manipulating superiors could either be making them choose or do something, or it could be to get to a higher rank yourself. The best way to manipulate superiors is not to do it directly. This is also part of the "48 Laws Of Power" The following is a list of ways to do so:

Make them feel superior: people with power love it when others feel their power. By making them feel superior, whether be carying out everything they say or simply telling them occasionally how (fill in the blank) they look in that (clothing). (Remember, everything depends on their personality and what position they are in as well as what time you are telling that to them in) "Law #1 never outshine the master"

Never show your motives: you have to show them that your intension behind any act yoi are doing is benefiting the place where you work (or them). This makes them sure they could trust you and make you look better for promotion. "Law #3 conceal your intensions"

Reputation: you have to have a reputation. Make it a good one though. If you work for a sales manager, make a reputation of your ability to persuade people. Never let anyone make the smallest crack in your reputation or everything you have done will fade. "Law #5 so much depends on reputation- gaurd it with your life"
