I've been working towards 100% renewable energy in Idaho for almost three years now and I've seen dramatic progress in the social and political climate of the energy policy world. Where we get our energy, how it's generated, and the consequences of those decisions are often ignored by a society that only sees bright lights and a full battery charge. Today, people are really paying attention to the consequences of our dependence on fossil fuels, and hopefully in partnership and collaboration with other nonprofits, the government and industry, the people of Idaho can make the necessary changes to protect the environment from climate change."

Negotiating a long-term franchise agreement with Oklahoma Gas and Electric definitely makes our community a lot harder to get renewable energy, but OG&E has stated they want to work with us, and we made it very clear where we want to go in the future. I’m sure there are hurdles, but look at what our state has done in terms of (compressed natural gas) ... I think Oklahoma is trying to get there.”
