#4 in my #100thingchallenge was a group of 4 junk journal spreads. This page is in my 2017 Hemingway Journal.
Things 2 & 3 in my #100thingchallenge . I made the two doilies (#2) and then put them on a journal made from an envelope, sheet music, papers and lace
100thingchallenge
1 hdd backup
1Queimador de essência
1 câmera fotográfica ( inclui a lente 18-55)
1 carregador de pilhas
1 conjunto de 4 pilhas recarregáveis
3 flashs (2 flash Nikon e 1Â tron)
1 mochila para câmera
2 cartões de memória SD
1 pendrive
1notebook
1 teclado
1 mouse
1 grampeador
1 pasta de documentos
1 pasta para faculdade
1 tesoura
22 DVDs
1 Livro
Game Boy
1 uma fita para game boy
1 suporte para celular no braço
1 estojo
1 caneta quatro cores
1 borracha
1 lapiseira pentel
1 calculadora

Happiness, Minmalist, and Life's Challenges
Still going strong on my simple, yet oddly complicated, New Year’s resolution of "be happy" I've taken on a few challenges that I think can better my lifestyle and ultimately my state of well-being for longer than a resolution usually lasts.Â
Knowing what makes you happy is the best weapon in any arsenal, but I'll get to that another time.Â
Getting on top of my finances is a side bar to my happiness. Being able to save and put myself through the last few semesters of school, being the ultimate inspiration (two things that would make me VERY happy!). Easier said than done on a limited income and well... life.
I stumbled upon a few concepts that I thought could really help me on this aspect of my life resolution. The first was the concept of a "no spend" month. In a nutshell it involves setting up a budget for the things you need to get through the month and strictly adhering to it, no extra spending. This is defiantly a challenge to me; I'm terribly guilty of picking stuff up when I don't NEED it (hello Target?!). I think a lot of us have forgotten what the true definition of "need" really is. A serious eye opener of all the extra cash that I am on blowing on things that are just not necessary.Â
Another concept in the same ball park was the practice of living a minimalistic lifestyle. Our nation is in consumer over drive constantly making purchases chasing that dream of reaching a certain goal, yet we keep on buying and buying....has it filled us with happiness and fulfilled our dreams? The concept focuses more on the quality than quantity in life. You'd be amazed in the free time you have when you're not shopping, it is kind of amazing how much time that sucks up! Time that can be spent in a more rewarding manner: spending time with loved ones, cooking, reading, writing, whatever tickles your fancy. Ultimately I found this concept really beautiful, and the organization monster in me just ate it up! That being said, I'm not an extremist, but I am already starting to slowly incorporate these practices into my life. These things happen slowly, but I'm hoping for the best. I hope to find what results it does bring clarifying, cleansing, and renewing!Â
If you're interested in the challenge yourself, find a great way to kick it off here.
This being said, all these concepts and goals are great, so life decided to say, "challenge accepted Ashleigh!" and a week into my no spend month challenge my rear tires decided to split, and needless to say yesterday was far more expensive than anticipated. Life has a silly way of bursting my bubble sometimes. But such is life...ok, pun intended a little.
But, on a bright note, happiness has most definitely been my companion so far this year. JÂ
...and this concludes my random writing rant.Â

day 13: confessions of a borderline minimalist
It's time to come clean.Â
I'm not a minimalist. I've just been getting rid of a lot of stuff.Â
I think I have yet to really take the plunge. Right now I'm teetering on the edge of minimalism, but I haven't taken the final step. Because at the next step, it gets scary. How far does this go? I guess as far as I want it to. Do I want to own any books? DVDs? How many pairs of shoes is enough? How many tee shirts is too many?Â
I suppose this isn't about a number of belongings, as much as I admire this guy, it's more about a mindset. What do I need to be happy? What will enrich my life? Where does blessing turn into burden?Â
I am pretty convinced that I still have much too much to be able to enjoy it all. Maybe the key is to take a minute to assess where the happiness in my life comes from. When I do, I'm pretty sure I'll find it doesn't come from my stuff at all. I love my friends, family, and that third, magical category, the friend-family. I love my dog, who probably fits in all of those categories. I love being able to express myself through music, so the instruments are coming with. But...for real, search your hearts with me...what else do we really need to be happy?
