It's November 29th and I'm doing well, but I'm.... a ways away from 50k on my nanowrimo story. But there's still time if I focus. I am terrible at focusing! Here's where you come in.
I will write 100 words for every task/chore from your to-do list that you do today or tomorrow.
It doesn't have to be a very big task, but preferably it is one you are struggling with motivation for as well, so that we can help each other. Dishes, vacuuming, taking a walk, writing your own 100 next words, eating a food, sending that email... whatever you need some extra push for, go do it* and then come tell me, and I'll write 100 words more. Asks are fine, or replies or reblogs or messaging.
*Since a lot of people are sending in tasks that they've already done prior to seeing this post, to be clear you should be doing one NEW task, one that is inspired by seeing this post and, preferably, something that might not have gotten done otherwise.
I'll take task reports until midnight EST on the 30th, and once I hit 50k (which probably won't be today but... who knows), I will start on the prompts in my askbox, and/or sentinel fic with whatever is leftover. So don't be afraid to start a task that would put me over; as long as you report by midnight, I'll still write.

Mwahahaha I got SO. MUCH. done today because of you. So I hope this still counts!
1) made a call to a city councilor that I'd been putting off.
2) went out of my way to push back on a building inspection that I would normally have dithered about for two days.
3) made myself eat actual lunch and not just half a cup of coffee bc I'm "busy"
4) attended a town hall meeting and spoke up!
5) got home from said meeting tired af and went to screw in cement board even though I really wanted to just say fuck it and do nothing for the rest of the night.
no, I'm laughing too hard at this immediate follow up, and I will now be using it to go to bed asap.
(OG post for those reading along)
Below a cut for length:
“You-” The word stuck, and Sam cleared her throat. “You’ve been watching Osker, right?”
Jane’s heart squirmed at the mention of his name. “When I have time.”
“And he-” She hesitated again. “How is he?”
“You’ve seen him,” she said, and then her brow furrowed. She had assumed, because Sam saw Charlie almost daily, that she would have been to see Osker just as often, but the guilt in Sam’s eyes told a different story. “You haven’t.”
“I tried, when he first got brought in, after he healed,” she explained. “But he just… he lost it. Shouting. Trying to warn me. Telling me to stay away. It was so stressful for him, I just… I couldn’t go back.”
“We could go see him in a few hours?” Jane ventured.
“I want to,” Sam said, but shook her head. “I shouldn’t, though. If I go, it could mess things up for you and your partner. I’ll see him when he’s out.”
When he’s out. The girl’s confidence in Jane and Brooke was heartening.
She reached out and laid a gentle hand on Sam’s shoulder, hoping it wasn’t too forward a gesture. “We’re going to get him out. No matter what else we do, we’re going to get them both out.”
Though she pulled her shoulder from Jane’s loose grasp, Sam nodded and wiped discreetly at one eye with the edge of her sleeve. “Yeah,” she agreed, tight throat strangling the word. “Yeah. Thank you.”
Jane stepped back to give Sam space. “We’re going to get it all sorted out. They said they’ll have the rest of the records for us by tomorrow afternoon.”
Sam straightened her shoulders and seemed to almost don the woman Jane had first met. “Well, while they’re doing that, do you want to come see the site for yourself?” A certain light had come to her eyes, sly and proud as she suggested breaking the rules. “I can take you there, if you think it would help.”
“It’s two in the morning,” Jane said with a little laugh.
“I’m sorry,” Sam responded in a tone that said she wasn’t sorry at all. “Am I waking you up?”
Jane’s bark of laughter startled both of them in the empty, echoing stairwell. “No, I suppose you’re not,” she conceded in good humor. “And I would very much appreciate a visit to the… site. If it’s safe to travel, in the dark?”
“It’s never safe,” Sam told her. “You know that. We may as well leave when no one can see us.”
“Ah,” Jane said. “That’s right, you’re not allowed out.”
“Technically?” Sam smiled, lifting her chin a little in defiance. “I’d like to see them try to keep me in. So?”
Jane gestured with one arm, unwittingly reminiscent of another. “Lead the way.”
Alright it's midnight here! Thank you everyone for playing my Tasks game! I will answer the rest with writing over the next few days, but I won't be taking any new ones.
I cleaned like half a kilo of dirt out of my shoes! They've been sitting around caked in mud since saturday bc I did a whole lot of gardening and it was rainy %) I'd been considering procrastinating it for another week when I saw your post, so hey, thank you for kicking my butt!
This is WONDERFUL news!!
No matter what else was happening around them, he turned into goo, smiling and holding his hands still beneath hers, head cocked to listen.
“I can hear his heart flutter,” Rhiley murmured, smile bright in his eyes as he looked up to Sam, who practically glowed with it. “It’s so fast, like a mouse or something.”
“You think it’s a he?” she asked softly.
“Can you smell it or something?” Dalton asked, feet propped on the edge of the bed as he leaned precariously backward in a metal folding chair.
Charlie hit his shoulder for the tactless question, sending him flailing to keep from tipping backward onto the floor.
my own mother is betraying me and getting things done in order to make me write. of course you get the paragraphs starting to talk about a baby lol Good job on doing your bills though, that's crap work but you did it!!
All told, it was the most graceful acceptance of the entire group. Osker had no idea what they would have done if Thomas had reacted poorly, right there in the open cafeteria, or if he’d decided to bide his time and bring the matter to the camp council. Not even Sam cold have gotten them out of that kind of situation, if it had come down to it.
The shift in eyes and claws and – eventually – teeth became more frequent as days passed. He had better control around Sam, at least, especially as she approached her due date. Every time her expression lit up and she reached for his hand to share their baby kicking, Rhiley relaxed immensely.

Good job, I know how much of a challenge that can be some day!
But, actually I'm more looking for tasks folks do because of this challenge, not tasks folks have already done prior, since that's the deal. I greatly appreciate the desire to help me out! I just also want to help others do stuff through this.
Task: I have been postponing getting out of bed because the outside is cold and the cocoon is warm. But because of the ask, I have gotten out of bed and dressed in time to get coffee before work. The morning is cruel today, and I will be kind.
HECK yeah, choosing kindness. I hope your coffee is delicious!

He’d spent two days nestled inside of a wolf den, and had come out completely unscathed. Even when the pack had been tearing itself apart, he had only been sent home.
He fought the urge to rub at his throat, the phantom sensation of Steve’s arm over it stealing the air from his lungs, Jasper’s it should have been different ringing in his ears.
Everything Osker had known about the world said that he should have killed Rhiley, or that Steve should have killed him. That Osker should have returned to camp and ratted out the group that had turned him out into the cold.
If you're taking doubles from people, I also finally vacuumed, which has needed to happen for 2 weeks. I may be able to breath without inhaling cat hair now.
The sources of fur:
your furbabies have bolstered me at this late hour, thank you. Nicely done on arresting their attempt to take over the house with fur.

“Disease,” Osker agreed, “but also to the supernatural. All of the supernatural. When the end first hit, she took off trying to find safer ground just like everyone else, and ran right into a pack of werewolves. They left her for dead after they bit her, because the bite was festering. They thought it would kill her. But it didn’t.”
Brooke’s brow knit. “Charlie isn’t a werewolf. She didn’t turn.”
“Nope,” Osker said. “The bite turns, or it kills, but it didn’t do anything to her. The venom didn’t take. Her body fights off everything; bacteria, viruses, poison, venom, magic… everything.
