I’ve never, ever been good at letting go.

Having to say goodbye to someone and knowing that whatever connection you may have had with them has come to an end, is something that truly breaks my heart.

You and I have never been with other people at the same time, but we’re finally at that point and it’s weird and it’s different and it makes me sad. But it’s also relieving.

I can’t text you just to say hi anymore, and I can’t send you the things that remind me of you. I can’t let you know when I’m feeling down or if something exciting happens. It’s not you I can run to anymore.

I guess I’m just finally mourning the loss of you. I know you’re not dead, but what we had is. I think about it everyday, at least once a day.

I hate to leave you in the past, but I think I’m starting to understand that it’s where our story belongs.

You will always have a huge piece of my heart and I will never have anything to say about you other than the kindest of words.

Thank you for saving me when I needed to be saved and for putting up with me for the past 3+ years. You knew me better than anyone else ever will and I’ll miss you for the rest of my life.
