Holden started soccer this weekend! His games/practices will be every Sunday morning through the fall. Yesterday’s weather was perfectly cool and crisp and watching a bunch of three year olds run around and practice playing soccer was beyond adorable. I feel like Holden does have a natural knack for dribbling and kicking - he definitely enjoys it - and he did great participating and listening to instructions from the coaches. Proud (soccer) mama.

Friday night B and I went to a work event hosted by his company and then went out to dinner. We joked that it’s our monthly date night, three months late. Better late than never. The more comfortable we all (MIL included) get with us being out of the house and her taking care of the boys, the more frequent dates for us should become. We’re planning to see Nate Bargatze do standup this fall and Friday night made us a little more comfortable with the idea of being away overnight for that too.

Saturday I spent with the boys while B did work on his mom’s place and then Sunday was spent doing soccer, relaxing, and grilling. I also made an apple crisp with some of the apples we picked last weekend. It came out delicious, and bonus, I put zero sugar in and it’s relatively healthy, for an apple crisp. I think I’m going to use the rest of the apples to make one and bring it over to our new neighbors who just moved in. Does anyone bring baked goods to new neighbors anymore? It feels very “desperate housewives.”
