What an exhausting day, Cindy and I presented our 50 minutes presentation to the class today, all about sexual assault and mental health in Asian American Community based on the DSM. It was nerve wrecking, but Hang being there gave us such a boost in comfort. Cindy and I spent at least 7 hours on that powerpoint, it was the most stressful thing ever, but I feel so accomplished after this specific presentation. It feels good to do our best, especially when it was not even required of us. I believe this is important work we are doing for our community. This presentation marks a moment where I feel empowered and confident to take on any challenges in the future. Credits to Thao and Carro, without the both of them, this would not have been possible. Thank you to all who supported us :) Cindy makes such a wonderful partner! She has so much passion and care into what she does and what she says. I am happy that we were partners :D

there's this insane thing about duality, at least from what i've experienced personally. i think a lot of conflict with one's self comes from the never ending battle between the conscious and subconscious. there are these thoughts and ideas that you were raised with or society has instilled in you that rest in your subconscious and you spend most of adulthood fighting those impulses once you gain more knowledge that the way you were taught was in fact, wrong. at least that happens with those blessed enough to have the drive and/or resources to obtain that knowledge and allow it to change them for the better. perhaps its the plague of the intellectual.
