Sajnos nem lehet napi rutinná tenni a sok ivást, de a tegnapi szerencsésen jött össze. Épp hazaértem addigra mire kitört rajtam az azonnal ágyba érzés és úgy aludtam el, hogy semmi, de tényleg semmi sem zakatolt a fejemben. Hazudok, pár percig Logan járt a gondolataimban, de aztán figyelmeztettem magam és elkezdtem a magas fekete – esetleg ősz – pasin gondolkodni, aki hamarosan rámtalál és ezen tulajdonságai mellett még azt is tudja... itt elaludtam. Vagy feladtam. Amúgy 165 centi vagyok, nem egy truváj nálam jelentősen magasabbnak lenni. Egyszer jártam egy sráccal (ezt a szöveget egyébként tőle tanultam. Minden történetét így kezdte, hogy egyszer jártam egy lánnyal... később kiderült, hogy ez mindösszesen egy vagy kettő lány volt, akik fontosak voltak neki, csak az indítószöveg miatt tűnt rengetegnek :D) szóval jártam ezzel a faszival és volt egy marketinges csaj, aki rámozdult. Kicsit prostituálódás volt a dolog, mert a marketinges csaj nagyon sok sokmilliós megrendelést tudott hozni és taktikusabb volt, ha nem tud róla, hogy mi együtt vagyunk (egy helyen dolgoztunk). Engem mondjuk kibaszottul zavart a dolog, értettem is meg nem is, a pasi nagyon nem csinált semmit, csak „hagyta magát”. hagyta, hogy a nő gondoljon amit akar, nem hárított, nem volt elutasító, de nem is kezdeményezett. Ha a csaj mondta, hogy inna egy kávét a stúdió melletti kávézóba, akkor elvitte kávézni, ha a csak felhívta akkor elfecsegett vele. Amúgy a nő vagy egy fejjel magasabb volt és bár nem volt kövér, de valahogy a magasságához illő karcsúságával is sok volt benne az anyag. A pasi azt mondta, hogy tudja ő, hogy a csaj szívesen elbabázgatna vele, hát ő meg próbál taktikus lenni. Ez az „elbabázgatás” ez annyira bennem maradt. Azóta van ez a magasság fóbiám. Faszság? Persze. És akkor mi van? Hozzáteszem amúgy is van ez az erős késztetésem, hogy kitaláljam a másik gondolatait, erre a pszichológus hívta fel a figyelmemet és felszólított, hogy hagyjam abba mert e miatt viselkednek mellettem a férfiak úgy, mintha gyerekek lennének. Megismerek egy faszit, okos, intelligens, férfias és addig babusgatom amíg gyerek nem lesz. Hiszen mindenkinek van hajlama rá, hogy belekényelmeseden a jóba, a kiszolgálásba, hogy majd megoldják helyette, emlékeznek mindenre helyette, viszik neki az ingert, a szenvedélyt, tálcán kínálják az intellektuális csemegéket, válogass csak szívem, nekem minden jó, engem minden érdekel, az lesz amit te szeretnél. (azért elég gáz elkényeztetett kisgyerek feeling ez. :() Hogy a faszi megcsalt-e annakidején ezzel a marketinges óriással, azt nem lehet tudni, és nem is érdekel. Semmit sem változtatna, ha tudnám, annyira régen volt.

Gondolkodtam rajta, hogy én miért nem érzem azt, hogy "nincs életem" miközben már fél éve a gép-ágy-stressz hármas rabja vagyok. Olyan amilyen, de nekem jó, én szeretem. A gyerekkoromat hagyjuk, nem szerettem az egészet, nem vágyom vissza. Kamaszkortól... Szerelmi kapcsolatban veszítettem el a szüzességem. Ez nem érdem, de szerintem szerencsésen alakult így, amúgy természetesen nem volt egy nagy szám, hát mitől lett volna az? Bénák voltunk. De ő volt az első nagy szerelem és bár meghalt fiatalon, a családdal nagyon jó a kapcsolatom. Épp tegnap írt az egyik, hogy most olvasta a kislányának a gyerekkönyvemet és a leányka várja a folytatást. Lélekemelő pillanat volt. Annál is inkább, mert őt magát még bébiszitteltem. Vettem lakást, felújítottam. 4 lakás, 4 felújítás. Házat nem építettem, de nem is vágyom rá. Ám, ha építenék, valami furcsa dolgot csinálnék. Régen átriumos ház volt az álmom. Felneveltem két gyereket. Az, hogy van-e az embernek saját gyereke az nem "teljesítmény". Az csak történés. De végigcsinálni azt a 10-20 évet egy gyerekkel... az igen. Elváltam. Ez ugye feltételezi, hogy az ember azért tartósan élt párkapcsolatban, ami jelentene egy rakás dolgot (empátia, érzelem, gyengédség, alkalmazkodás), de nem jelenti ezeket. Azt jelenti, hogy képes volt döntést hozni, hogy változtatni akar az életén, és minden pszichés teher ellenére végigvitt egy kibaszott szar dolgot. Egyetem Ezt nem vehetném a sikerlistához, hiszen nem diplomáztam le végül. A szakdolgozatomat elsodorta a válás és az azt követő anyagi nehézségek. Mindig volt bennem egy kicsi szégyenkezés, amiért nem fejeztem be a sulit, de mindig volt egy kis kaján vigyor is, amikor professzor professzorovics kolléga szakértelem/gondolkodásmód alapján kinéz belőlem 2-3 diplomát. Ez nem egyszer fordult elő. Sokat vesztettem vele, hogy nem ddiplomáztam le. Véglegesen bezárt pár kaput. :( Sikernek azért veszem mégis, mert az egész 3 évnyi tanulás nem volt más, csak visszaigazolás, hogy otthonosan mozgok a munkámban. Amúgy meg van két keményborítósom meg vagy öt egyéb igazolásom. Egy időben szórakozásból tanultam. Eltemettem a nevelőapámat. Mondhatnám azt is, hogy eltemettem a feltétel nélküli szeretet élményét. A veszteség feldolgozása legalább annyit tesz az ember életéhez, mint az örömök megélése. Szerelem. Nekem nagyon fontos. Szeretek szerelmes lenni. Az egész rajongás, odadás, lüktető hullámzás, felkorbácsolt érzelmek dolog nekem fontos. A vonzalmaim tartósak. A szerelmeimet hatalmas regényként éltem meg mindig. Nem voltak sokan. Valamivel több szex volt mint szerelem. Szerintem éppen elég ahhoz, hogy megtanuljak különbséget tenni. Barátok. Vannak barátaim. És van képességem rá, hogy új barátokat engedjek az életembe. Az is igaz, hogy válogatok nagyon, mert, ha beengedtem, akkor minden szeretetem az övé. Viszont az érdekes, hogy bár szakadtak meg barátságaim, se harag, se árulás nem történt soha. Egyszerűen másfelé ment az életünk. A Minden is. Azt hiszem ez a legfontosabb. Hogy képes vagyok megélni a dolgokat. Kinyílni rájuk, beletenni magam, beszélni róla, engedni áradni ki-be, átlépni a félelmeken, keresni-kutatni, kapcsolatot teremteni, részt venni az élet elemi lüktetésében akkor is, amikor itt ülök az íróasztalomnál. Mindegy, hogy érzelemmel telve vagy látszólag racionálisan gondolkodva csinálok valamit, de amikor csinálom, akkor tiszta erőből. Amiben nem hiszek (legalább abban, hogy azzal más valakinek segítek), azt nem tudom csinálni és nem is akarom. Az nem élet. Akkor talán ez a kulcs. Hogy több dolog van amit csinálni akarok, mint amit csinálni muszáj. Talán ezért érzem azt, hogy van életem. Akkor csak annyit kell tenni, hogy az ember tudjon akarni dolgokat, amit nem muszáj.

Raphael Saadiq
Raphael Saadiq /səˈdiːk/ (born Charles Ray Wiggins; May 14, 1966) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, guitarist, and record producer. Saadiq has been a standard bearer for "old school" R&B since his early days as a member of the multiplatinum group Tony! Toni! Toné! He has also produced songs for such artists as Joss Stone, D'Angelo, TLC, Kelis, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Solange Knowles and John Legend.
He and D'Angelo were occasional members of The Ummah, a music production collective, composed of members Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest, and J Dilla of the Detroit-based group Slum Village. He is also a co-founder of independent video game developer IllFonic.
Saadiq's critically acclaimed album, The Way I See It, released on September 16, 2008, featuring artists Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone, and Jay-Z, received three Grammy Award nominations and was voted Best Album on iTunes of 2008. His fourth studio album, Stone Rollin', was released on March 25, 2011. For the album, Saadiq worked with steel guitarist Robert Randolph; former Earth, Wind & Fire keyboardist Larry Dunn; Swedish-Japanese indie rock singer Yukimi Nagano (of Little Dragon fame); funk artist Larry Graham (on the bonus cut "Perfect Storm") and soul newcomer Taura 'Aura Jackson' Stinson.
Music critic Robert Christgau has called Saadiq the "preeminent R&B artist of the '90s".
Early life
Saadiq was born in Oakland, California, the second-youngest of 14 siblings and half-siblings. His early life was marked by tragedy; he experienced the deaths of several of his siblings as a young child. When Saadiq was seven years old, his brother was murdered. One of his brothers overdosed on heroin and another committed suicide because he was unable to deal with his addiction to the drug. His sister died as a result of a car crash during a police chase in a residential neighborhood. Saadiq states that he does not want his music to be reflective of the tragedies he experienced, saying that "And through all of that I was makin' records, but it wasn't comin' out in the music. I did it to kinda show people you can have some real tough things happen in your life, but you don't have to wear it on your sleeve."
He has been playing the bass guitar since the age of six, and first began singing at age nine in a local gospel group. At the age of 12, he joined a group called "The Gospel Humminbirds". In 1984, shortly before his 18th birthday, Saadiq heard about tryouts in San Francisco for Sheila E.'s backing band on Prince's Parade Tour. At the audition, he chose the name "Raphael", and had difficulty remembering to respond to the name when he heard that he got the part to play bass in the band. He says of the experience, "Next thing I was in Tokyo, in a stadium, singin' Erotic City. We were in huge venues with the biggest sound systems in the world; all these roadies throwin' me basses, and a bunch of models hangin' round Prince to party. For almost two years. That was my university."
Career
1987–1999: Tony! Toni! Toné! and The Ummah
After returning to Oakland from touring with Prince, Saadiq began his professional career as the lead vocalist and bassist in the rhythm and blues and dance trio Tony! Toni! Toné! He used the name Raphael Wiggins while in Tony! Toni! Toné!, along with his brother Dwayne Wiggins, and his cousin Timothy Christian. In the mid-1990s, he adopted the last name Saadiq, which means "man of his word" in Arabic. His change of surname led many to speculate that he had converted to Islam at that point; in reality, Saadiq is not a Muslim, but rather just liked the way "Saadiq" sounded and changed his last name simply to distinguish himself from and avoid potential confusion with his brother, Dwayne Wiggins. As he confirmed by telling noted R&B writer Pete Lewis of the award-winning 'Blues & Soul' in May 2009, "I just wanted to have my own identity!"
In 1995, Saadiq had his biggest solo hit to date, when "Ask of You", featured on the Higher Learning Soundtrack peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the R&B chart. In 1995, Saadiq produced and performed on Otis & Shug's debut album, We Can Do Whatever.
Tony! Toni! Toné! would become major R&B superstars throughout the late-1980s and 1990s. However, after the 1996 album entitled House of Music failed to duplicate the group's previous success, Tony! Toni! Toné! went their separate ways in 1997.
1999–2004: Lucy Pearl and first string of solo albums
In 1999, Saadiq's next big project became the R&B supergroup Lucy Pearl. He recorded the self-titled album with Dawn Robinson (En Vogue) and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest). The group only lasted for one album.
Also in 1999, he collaborated with rapper Q-Tip on the single "Get Involved", from the animated television series The PJs. It samples The Intruders' 1973 song "I'll Always Love My Mama" and charted at number 21 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks.
His 2000 song collaboration "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" won D'Angelo a Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance; it was also nominated for Grammy Award for Best R&B Song. The song was ranked #4 on Rolling Stone's "End of Year Critics & Readers Poll" of the top singles of 2000. D'Angelo's album Voodoo won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
In 2002, Saadiq founded his own record label, Pookie Entertainment. Among the artists on the label are Joi and Truth Hurts. In 2002, he released his first solo album Instant Vintage, which earned him five Grammy Award nominations. He released a two-disc live album All the Hits at the House of Blues in 2003, and his second studio album Ray Ray in 2004, both on Pookie Entertainment.
2004–2010: Expanded output and second string of albums
In 2004, Saadiq produced a remix of the song "Crooked Nigga Too" by Tupac Shakur which is featured on the album Loyal to the Game. Other artists he has collaborated with include Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, The Isley Brothers, A Tribe Called Quest, Teedra Moses, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Macy Gray, Angie Stone, Snoop Dogg, Mac Dre, Devin the Dude, DJ Quik, Kelis, Q-Tip, Lil' Skeeter, Ludacris, The Bee Gees, Musiq Soulchild, Jaguar Wright, Chanté Moore, Lionel Richie, Marcus Miller, Noel Gourdin, Nappy Roots, Calvin Richardson, T-Boz from TLC, Jody Watley, Floetry, Leela James, Amp Fiddler, John Legend, Joss Stone, Young Bellz, Anthony Hamilton, Babyface, Ledisi, Goapele, Ghostface Killah, —Ginuwine, The Grouch Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bilal, Chali 2na, Larry Graham, Luniz as well as many others. In 2007, Saadiq produced Introducing Joss Stone, the third album of British soul singer Joss Stone. According to J. Gabriel Boylan of The New York Observer, "he's produced artists including Macy Gray, the Roots, D'Angelo, John Legend, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, and more. With all of them he's pushed a classic aesthetic, heavy on organic sounds and light on studio magic, deeply indebted to the past and distrustful of easy formulas."
Saadiq's third solo album, The Way I See It, released on Columbia Records on September 16, 2008, available in a collector's edition box set of 7" 45 rpm singles as well as on traditional CD, was critically well-received, made several critics' 2008 best albums lists, and garnered three Grammy nominations including Best R&B Performance by a Duo Or Group With Vocals (for "Never Give You Up", featuring Stevie Wonder & CJ Hilton); Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance (for "Love That Girl") and Best R&B Album for The Way I See It. Music from The Way I See It was featured in the following motion pictures: Madea Goes To Jail, Bride Wars, Cadillac Records, Secret Life of Bees, In Fighting (Rogue), and It's Complicated.
Touring with a nine piece band, Saadiq hit the 2009 summer music festival circuit with performances at Bonnaroo, Hollywood Bowl, Outside Lands, Pori Jazz, Stockholm Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz, Essence Music Festival, Summer Spirit Festival, and Nice Jazz Festival, Bumbershoot Music Festival and Austin City Limits. Saadiq has been touring Europe extensively, and held a five-night residency at the House of Blues in Tokyo, Japan, in June 2009. In 2008, Saadiq formed a new label called Velma Records, a place where he promises "people can express themselves like I did with The Way I See It... where they can dream something up and just go with it".
He produced songs for LeToya Luckett's forthcoming second album Lady Love, released August 2009. In 2009, Saadiq produced "Please Stay" and "Love Never Changes" for Ledisi's August 2009 release "Turn Me Loose". Saadiq also was the executive producer for an emerging group called Tha Boogie. Tha Boogie's first EP was released on iTunes and is titled Love Tha Boogie, Vol. 1 (Steal This Sh*t).
In 2009, Saadiq announced his video game development company called IllFonic. The first video game in development by IllFonic is titled Ghetto Golf, with an expected release late in 2010. In 2009, Saadiq teamed up Bentley Kyle Evans, Jeff Franklin, Martin Lawrence, and Trenten Gumbs to create a new sitcom called Love That Girl! starring Tatyana Ali. Raphael is an executive producer and composer for Love That Girl!. The show airs on TV One and debuted on January 19, 2010. That same year, Saadiq performed The Spinners hit "It's A Shame" in a legendary Levi's commercial and sang as part of the chorus in the 2010 remake of "We Are the World" for Haiti.
2011–present: Stone Rollin'
In 2011, Saadiq was the guitarist/bandleader for the group backing Mick Jagger for Jagger's tribute performance of the Solomon Burke R&B classic, "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" at the 53rd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and on CBS. The band that accompanied the performance was Saadiq's touring band called Stone Rollin. In 2011 he and his band performed as the ESPY's house band for the night, where he performed his latest compositions.
Saadiq's 2011 album Stone Rollin' was released to great critical acclaim. "He's always had a boyish enthusiasm for performing, and a flexible, naturally joyous voice that suggests a young Stevie Wonder," wrote Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune, "but with his latest album, Saadiq finds a new gear. The album and his current tour demonstrate that there's a big difference between retro and classic, and the artist consistently finds himself on the right side of that divide." Kot ranked the album number seven in his year-end list, in which he dubbed it Saadiq's "finest achievement" and stated, "He's always written songs steeped in soul and R&B, but now he gives them a progressive edge with roaming bass lines and haunted keyboard textures. He's no longer a retro stylist – he's writing new classics." Critic Jim Derogatis called it "a stone cold gas of a party disc."
In fall 2011, he performed on the fourth results show of Dancing with the Stars season 13. In December 2011, he performed a cover compilation of several Neil Diamond songs at the Kennedy Center Honors award ceremony.
In 2012 he signed a deal with Toyota to do a TV commercial for the Toyota Prius. In 2013 Raphael partnered with Bay Area/ Atlanta Production company EL Seven Entertainment/ Republic Records and new R&B Superstar Adrian Marcel and released his 1st promotional mixtape "Raphael Saadiq Presents Adrian Marcel 7 Days of Weak".
Saadiq is a featured bass guitar player on Elton John's 2013 album, The Diving Board.
In 2016 he executive produced Solange Knowles Project, A Seat At The Table which debuted at #1 on music charts in the United States. He also guest starred in Luke Cage, where he performs his songs "Good Man" and "Angel" at Harlem's Paradise.

Georgia Douglas Johnson
Georgia Blanche Douglas Camp Johnson, better known as Georgia Douglas Johnson (September 10, 1880 – May 14, 1966), was an African American poet, one of the earliest African-American female playwrights, and an important participant in the Harlem Renaissance.
Early life
Johnson was born in Atlanta to Laura Douglas and George Camp (her mother's last name is listed in other sources as Jackson). Her mother was of African and Native American descent, and her father was of African-American and English heritage.
Much of Johnson's childhood was spent in Rome, Georgia. She received her education in both Rome and Atlanta, where she excelled in reading, recitations and physical education. She also taught herself to play the violin, which developed into a lifelong love of music that appears in her plays, which make distinct use of sacred music.
Johnson graduated from Atlanta University's Normal School 1896. She taught school in Marietta, Georgia. She left her teaching career to pursue her interest in music in 1902, attending Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio. She wrote music from 1898 until 1959. After studying in Oberlin Johnson returned to Atlanta, where she became assistant principal in a public school.
Marriage and family
On September 28, 1903, Johnson married Henry Lincoln Johnson, an Atlanta lawyer and prominent Republican party member. They had two sons, Henry Lincoln Johnson, Jr., and Peter Douglas Johnson (d. 1957). Johnson claimed her husband was not very supportive of her writing, preferring her be to a home-maker instead. Her husband's job as a lawyer forced them to live in Washington, D.C., away from the literary center in Harlem. He died in 1925 when she was aged 45 and she was left to take care of their sons, who were teenagers at the time. Even though her husband often criticized her career as a writer, she published two poems dedicated to him: "The Heart of a Woman" (1918) and "Bronze" (1922). Johnson lived in Washington for the last 50 years of her life. After her husband died, she struggled at first with some temporary jobs. As a gesture of appreciation for her husband's loyalty and service to the Republican party, President Calvin Coolidge appointed Johnson as the Commissioner of Conciliation in the Department of Labor.
Career
Johnson's husband accepted an appointment as the Recorder of Deeds from United States President William Howard Taft, and the family moved to Washington, D.C., in 1910. It was during this period that Johnson began to write poems and stories. She credited a poem written by William Stanley Braithwaite about a rose tended by a child, as her inspiration for her poems. Johnson also wrote songs, plays, short stories, taught music, and performed as an organist at her Congregational church.
Poetry
She began to submit poems to newspapers and small magazines. Her first poem was published in 1905 in the literary journal The Voice of the Negro, though her first collection of poems was not published until 1916. She published four volumes of poetry, beginning in 1916 with The Heart of a Woman. Her poems are often described as feminine and "ladylike" or "raceless" and use titles such a "Faith", "Youth", and "Joy". Her poems appeared in multiple issues of The Crisis, a journal published by the NAACP and founded by W. E. B. Du Bois. "Calling Dreams" was published with the January 1920 edition, "Treasure" in July 1922, and "To Your Eyes" in November 1924.
Plays
Johnson was a well-known figure in the national black theatre movement and was an important “cultural sponsor” in the early twentieth century, assembling and inspiring the intellectuals and artists who generated the next group of black theatre and rising education (16). Johnson wrote about 28 plays. Plumes was published under the pen name John Temple. Many of her plays were never published because of her gender and race. Gloria Hull is credited with the rediscovery of many of Johnson's plays. The 28 plays that she wrote were divided into four sections: "Primitive Life Plays", "Plays of Average Negro Life", "Lynching Plays" and "Radio Plays". Several of her plays are lost. The first section, “Primitive Life Plays,” features Blue Blood and Plumes, which were published and produced during Johnson’s lifetime.
In 1926, Johnson's play "Blue Blood" won honorable mention in the Opportunity drama contest. Her play "Plumes" also won in the same competition in 1927. Johnson was one of the only women whose work was published in Alain Locke's anthology Plays of Negro Life: A Source-Book of Native American Drama. Johnson's typescripts for ten of her plays are in collections in academic institutions. Blue-Eyed Black Boy is a 1930 lynching genre play written to convince Congress to pass anti-lynching laws. This lesser known play premiered in Xoregos Performing Company's program: "Songs of the Harlem River" in New York City's Dream Up Festival, from August 30 to September 6, 2015. "Songs of the Harlem River" also opened the Langston Hughes Festival in Queens, New York on February 13, 2016.
Anti-lynching activism
Although Johnson spoke out against race inequity as a whole, she is more known as a key advocate in the anti-lynching movement as well as a pioneering member of the lynching drama tradition. Her activism is primarily expressed through her plays, first appearing in the play Sunday Morning in the South. This outspoken, dramatic writing about racial violence is sometimes credited with her obscurity as a playwright since such topics were not considered appropriate for a woman at that time. Unlike many African-American playwrights, Johnson refused to give her plays a happy ending since she did not feel it was a realistic outcome. As a result, Johnson had difficulty getting plays published. Though she was involved in the NAACP's anti-lynching campaigns of 1936 and 1938, the NAACP refused to produce many of her plays claiming they gave a feeling of hopelessness. Johnson was also a member of the Writers League Against Lynching, which included Countée Cullen, James Weldon Johnson, Jessie Fauset, and Alain Locke. The organization sought a federal anti-lynching bill.
Salons
Soon after her husband's death, Johnson began to host what became 40 years of weekly "Saturday Salons", for friends and authors, including Langston Hughes, Jean Toomer, Anne Spencer, Richard Bruce Nugent, Alain Locke, Jessie Redmon Fauset, Angelina Weld Grimké and Eulalie Spence — all major contributors to the New Negro Movement, which is better known today as the Harlem Renaissance.
She was especially close to the European-American writer Angelina Grimké. Johnson called her home the "Half Way House" for friends traveling, and a place where they "could freely discuss politics and personal opinions" and where those with no money and no place to stay would be welcome.
She died in Washington, D.C., in 1966.
In September 2009, it was announced that Johnson would be inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame.
