My college experience has been interesting. It was a weird transition from high school but I was well prepared, throughout high school I only took AP classes and honors classes which had a lot of reading on your own but not nearly the amount in college. I am very thankful to be attending this school. The campus is in the center of the city and there are so many opportunities here. I am thankful too for living in Chicago because the job opportunities and internship opportunities are infinite. This is such a great experience and it was hard to transition but I am glad because it taught me time management and being disciplined.

My interviewee was Imani. Imani was very shy, and didn’t really know much about what Roosevelt's Social Justice was about. She feels that social justice should be mandatory; which was very interesting. According to her, Social Justice was something that went on all the time. "Everyone at some point should feel the need to create more positive around us" she said social justice was the longing to make our surroundings healthier not just for ourselves but for the people around us." The main issue to her is not many people act on it. Imani doesn't plan on holding a protest or writing a letter to the president about today's issues. But we reassured her that not just what social justice consisted of. and that just contributing her opinion was an act of social justice.

Social Justice is the fair distribution of wealth, opportunity, and special rights within a society. Social justice is a very important concept in order to maintain a fair environment. Especially since Roosevelt is located in the heart of Chicago's downtown. Chicago in general resides many immigrants and minorities and many people migrated here in the past for opportunity, Roosevelt's University (although just a small school then) contributed positively to improving the Chicagoan Society.

As a student at Roosevelt University, I feel as though I have become apart of community that puts alot into what they care about. I have never meet groups of people my age who are determined for their cause. Everyone has a unique vibe, everyone is friendly and different in their own ways. I would be great to contribute to that and involve myself with more people and groups my second semester. Roosevelt University has been a great experience thus far.
