Abra has the ability to read minds, and it uses this to identify impending danger so that it can teleport to safety, so if you wish to catch one you must clear your mind, but it also teleports to a different location every hour to stay safe.

Abra sleeps for 18 hours a day, a drawback from its psychic powers that it must do or lose its abilities, and the deeper the sleep the farther Abra can teleport, and the contents of Abra's dream affects the powers that Abra can use.

When Abra teleports every hour, it creates an illusion to look like there are copies of itself left behind.
