i just spent more time than i should have trying to figure out if jacques the howling commando would have been from france or french canada
marvel wiki says he's france-french (and in the comics it seems like he's resistance which makes sense) but historically i think it'd actually make more sense for him to have been french-canadian if he was in italy pre-cap's visit (circa what looks like fall 1943) and/or was involved in the initial allied invasion, given that neither france nor the free french/french resistance...seem to have been there at all until the bernhardt line which was in late winter 1943
