it was stolen and i intend to take it back.
a statement that she could not completely argue against. daenerys stormborn understood entirely what it was like to have something that once belonged to her family –– only to have it taken from them, betrayed and stabbed in the back by men whom you trusted. whilst she had been no older than a couple of months, the mother of dragons understood entirely what it was like to have something that once meant the world to your ancestors, stolen from them and ruined over decades of damage. for that, she had to commend the self-proclaimed king in the north, though that was not something that she was willing to let go of so easily. stubborn and impulsive, both targaryen traits that tainted her soul, daenerys allowed a quick exhale of breath to escape from her lungs as eyes turned towards his bastard brother –– who seemed shy, eyes unable to fully meet hers. there was something about robb stark that was almost egocentric; a wit to his attitude that reminded her of daario naharis, though this mans came with far more pride than daario had ever held … he was a wolf, nonetheless. teeth sharp and growl loud but who was she to take away the meaning of a houses words? if winter was coming –– truly coming, then who was she to deny help? especially when one day, she might have needed it in return.
“and do you have any proof? that these … things are as real as your brother claims them to be?” there was a harshness to her tone; the ice within her voice as cold as the wintery lands that graced the northern kingdom of westeros. ocean orbs came to life with a storm, waves lapping against the black rocks of her castle and all that could be heard for miles was the angry sea –– a tension so tough lingering throughout her throne room that it could not even be cut with the valyrian steel sword that they had confiscated from the bastard boy. as eyes flickered between the pair of them, daenerys allowed her azure hues to anchor in on robb stark, taking another step closer to him so that she was merely inches away. he was just as attractive as the tales had spoken; deep blue tully hues and a red taint to his curls. he had seen war, experienced death. he had loved and he had lost, much like her but that did not put them on the same level as one another. “confessing to an open rebellion, whilst in the stormlands stood before your rightful queen is probably not a wise idea –– though i am sure your advisors would have told you this before coming here.”
her ancestors –– although they shared her blood –– had conquered westeros, claiming kingdoms that were not their own and forging them together as one to create the seven kingdoms. the way he smirked stirred up a feeling within the mother of dragons that brewed distaste; an anger inside of her boiling and yet, she refused to let it show on her face. instead, she smile back as hollow hues glared through his body, almost ignoring his brother that stood by his side now. she was not sure how he felt with her standing this close to him and daenerys was not one to use her sexuality in order to get her something, no. she did not need a man to be able to rule over the seven kingdoms or to further what she wanted. she was daenerys stormborn, of the old blood of valyria and she was going to take what was hers with fire and blood. the northern kingdom just needed some negotiating.
“i respect that you want to claim your kingdom as its own but if this army is as deadly as you say it is, you will not stand a chance on your own and burning bridges with future allies is probably not within your best interest. what do you make of this lord tyrion?” the question lifted from her lips and spilled into the air above them –– a ghostly echo reverberating through the room as though the souls of dozens of targaryen ghosts were repeating that question. she could see her hand enter the corner of her vision, meeting her and standing in front of the previous lord commander, arguing that allies were just as important in time of war. both needed the other; robb needed daenerys and soon enough, she would need his help in marching south but the silver haired queen was stubborn … and for as long as she had dorne, highgarden and the iron islands by here side –– she believed that she needed no king in the north. he just would have been helpful along the way. as tyrion spoke, wise words leaving his lips as they had done for as long as his reputation had been widely known, the utterances of importance in coming together through times of war, ocean orbs continued to anchor in on the king of the north as she offered a false smile, blinking as though she was giving him the opportunity to reconsider. “if this is a war that is true, i will need some kind of solidarity to show that i am not being misled. the lannister family may have mistreated and betrayed yours, do you not want to see them brought to justice? if not for me, then for your father. bend the knee and i shall reconsider surrendering my armies to support the northern cause, whatever it may be.”
