People say that DARE was a failure, but it accomplished all of its goals. Police budgets have increased, prison profits have increased, and a lot of people support draconian anti-drug policies. I mean sure, a few more kids started doing drugs as a direct consequence of the program, but who cares about that?

I need everyone here to know that some people still think DARE was one of the greatest things they had ever done, and looked back at the 90s and went "yes, that, but more of it.",
so now it's called RAAD for "rise above alcohol & drugs" and i need you to understand that someone got paid to come up with that acronym. and then a committee approved it. and then they printed banners, and then they sponsored race cars.
just take a moment and regress back to your 15-year-old brain for a moment: you're in a folding chair in the gym. no one wants to be there. the cop says "RAAD" out loud with a straight face. what do you do.
