The Burning - posts #2 - 3
#2 - I thought it would be creepier inside. Mostly it was just sad looking. There’s a lot of water damage, the ceiling stained with dark, almost burn-like patterns from the rain. The laminate hard wood floors peeled and cracked with the skeleton of bubble board showing in place.
At the far end of the restaurant there is a bar - no bottles upon its three-tiered shelves. My first thought was that of hope, my eyes scanned further in the dim light; to find a bottle of bourbon. Alcohol doesn’t come cheap and I could use a swig to calm my nerves right now.
#3 - I started unpacking supplies after taking a quick look in all the corners. Nothing spoke to me in particular. I stroked my hand across the few things that were left, things that could be attached to someone- the chair leaning on its three legs, half a swinging door leading to the kitchen, a single ashtray hidden in a corner being the bar. Everything I found was decrypted and broken - empty shells along a stormy seaside.
Everything of worth or use had ben looted.
I pulled out my notebook, a small knife and a half-used stick of chalk. I started drawing up a conjuring ritual, there was no use expelling more energy on finding items that were attached.
Regardless, it would have been very likely that I would run for my life.
