"I miss clouds. I miss you"
"I miss clouds. I miss you."
Will hates the cold. He hates the rain. But when it comes to Mike, he would sacrifice his comfort in order to see him again.
Even if California's heat would maybe comfort him, it still wouldn't be the same. there is no comfort without Mike.
In his painting, his love letter, he painted clouds as a symbolic want.
we see him painting them with a longing look on his face, because clouds represent Mike.
clouds can decorate a sunny sky full of warm memories "I asked if you wanted to be my friend, you said yes."
clouds can be bitter and cold, heavy with rain "it's not my fault you don't like girls."
clouds can change "I thought I lost you."
and maybe to Mike, it's the same. to him rainy days represent bitter change: the quarry and the garage. maybe he doesn't like the rain because of this. just like Will, rain carries memories, and behind those clouds he can hide from them.
but Will changes too.
Mike can no longer hide behind clouds, and Will can no longer ignore what's behind them.
they'll find each other, and the clouds will fade away.
