the crushing possibility that people like Clark Kent, he’s charming and silly and a good coworker, and people like Superman, who’s got more charisma than God but the humbleness to match, who has unending respect from his JL coworkers and is charming in a different, but equally strong way — but neither of those groups necessarily like (or know) the man who isn’t quite either of those people. Clark, Kal, whoever he is: the guy who isn’t perfect as Superman, who loses hope and has doubts when people need him the most. The guy who lets his hold on Clark Kent, bumbling reporter slip a little at the wrong time and is too intense, too inhuman for his human friends.
